    Silent reflux?

    hi collegue mums!

I suspect my son to have reflux, but as he is not constant with his symptoms and the childrens nurse can't really be bothered, I was hoping you guys can help out:

Does someone recognize the following symptoms?

    Very unsettled
Throwing up a lot, sometimes thick and other times white flakes and saliva
    Swallowing back milk
Won't go to sleep in the evening, sometimes not at all, othertimes when I walk, holding him in an upright position.
    Difficult burper
Lotsa gazzzzz as in loud smelly farts

But he doesn't fight the breast, loves to eat usually, no problems after night (dream) feed, during the night and breakfast, he then goes to sleep no problems.
During the day he sometimes cries when I lie him down to play but is easily distracted with play/attention.

Can anyone help me out? In case of reflux I would prefer natural remedies. I still breastfeed and prefer to cut out something in my diet or give homeopathic drops etc than full on medication esp since he obviously doesnt suffer all the time.

    Thanks heaps!

Try Brauers Colic relief, or Calm if you want to keep it natural, it's at the chemist.

Stupid colic, reflux, silent reflux (seriously, whats silent about it???), they all suck, all hard to diagnose, no one can really do much until they grow out of it. Which they usually do by about 4 months, I promise.

Try the Brauers, some girls like the Infants Friend, keep the little fella upright....and I hope you get some sleep xoxoxoxoxo

Mmmm sounds good, he's almost 4 months! Hope it gets better. Dont mind the chucking as long as he's a happy chucker.

It's a hard one to diagnose sometimes. My DS had reflux for a little while, he didn't chuck a lot so I guess it was more silent reflux. It was obvious though because he would wake up in the middle of the night screaming in pain and when I lay him down to feed he would scream too.

I ended up taking him to a paediatric chiropractor and after one session and following his advice the reflux disappeared within a few days. Paediatric chiros are great for unsettled babies in general so it may be worth considering?

Also, like Lulu said try something like Brauer Colic Relief and even try raising the top of your bub's mattress so that it is slightly inclined. I raised DS's mattress up with a couple of rolled up towels.

Hope you both get some relief soon
