    Is this caused from teething?

    Hey All

I am going to the doctors about this but thought I would put the question out there and see what other people think...

For a few days now Avaleigh has had green poo, and lots of it, but only in small burst, if you get what I mean! At first I dont think I was getting the nappy changed quick enough and it seems quite dry. Since then Avaleigh has gotten really bad nappy rash so I am checking and changing nappy every 30 mins and I am getting the dirty nappy off straight away. Since doing this I have noticed that the green poo is quite runny.

So I have read a few times that babies that are teething is getting green runny poo. So do you think this could be the cause? She is doing it atleast once every hour, so I am a little worried that is why we are going to the docs and also to get something the help with the nappy rash..

Sounds like teething poo to me! Also the only time my kids ever got nappy rash was when they were teething as their urine was extra strong and when the ammonia in the urine mixes with the poo it can be quite nasty on their delicate skin. Put a good slathering of bepanthen/amolin/sudocreme on her bottom as a barrier against any urine/poo and make sure you put it on the skin around her vagine too - my girls could get nappy rash almost up to the pubic areas at its worst.

How long can this go on for??!! I have felt her gums and I dont feel any teeth coming through.

We've been using lots of creams, at the moment I am on covitol, the pharmacist suggested it to us. And I am covering the whole area with it, pretty much!

And did you do any nappy free time? I tried yesterday afternoon and we dirtied about 5 pants in 2 hours!

Poor Avaleigh and her stressed out Mummy

It sounds like teething poo to me to V. O's poo has been quite green for the past couple of months while he has been teething. His wee hasn't been acidic like lots of bubs are. Mum is quite suprised, we have just been lucky I guess. I have been following your other thread hun and I don't have any other suggestions as I think you are doing everything you possibly can. Let me know how you go at the Dr's hun. You are doing such a great job you poor thing.

I hope the Dr gives me some other sort of suggestions or creams!! If Oscar's been having green poo for months, then I'd hate to think how many nappies I am going to be going through in the next few months! But changing the nappy every 30-60mins has helped a little bit..
