Teething and constipation - any link???

My baby boy has been constipated since Friday now and he is teething. I felt his teeth and drooling heaps red cheeks etc. Just wanted to know if there is any link between teething and constipation in babies.

There could be a link in your son. My DS is the opposite and geez, those nappies are astonishingly bad!! I think most kids react slightly differently.

If your worried and he is in pain, try the chemist for some gentle laxatives. Another option is give him some water to try and loosen things up or a little diluted prune juice (um, not sure if that is appropriate at his age so maybe not!).

Thanks - he is 5 months old on Thursday and i was told it was ok to dilute prune juice with water, but he didn't like it - just screwed up his face and pushed it away. I also tried cooled boiled water and he doesn't like to drink it either.... I have been using Brauers Stomach Calm which is good and clears it up for that day but then it comes back again.... If it continues I might just take him to the doctor.
