NO tooth paste until at least 18 months - 2 years and you must continue to brush their teeth until age of 10.
I've never liked the idea of toothpaste for babies. I only just bought toothpaste today for DS at 22 months. He started to ask for it because he sees us use it. I'm still a bit suss as he can't quite get the hang of spitting. So not only is he absorbing it through his gums, but he's swallowing it too. It says to use a pea sized amount, I use a thin smear.

Im not 100% sure on the breastfed babies teeth when it comes to milk residue. Bear with me and ill give the ABA a call
ETA - Just got off the phone to them and no its not an issue if they are exclusivley breastfed as the nipple is in the back of the mouth but it is an issue if bub is EBM fed as the teat causes the milk to pool around the teeth.
Glad to hear that! I feed to sleep and DS still feeds 4 - 8 times per night. I was starting to panic as DS has really only just the last couple of weeks let us give a half decent brush, until now he would only have a chew and cracked it and clamp his jaw shut if we tried
