DS fed at night until he was almost 10m old, we only stopped then because he wasn't feeding back to sleep. That was making a rod for my own back because he then refused to cosleep with me so I had to get out of bed every time he woke up for the next four-five months, when the I gave him a homeopathic remedy and he slept through.
Why should people be doing XYZ at a certain age? Why sleep at this age - did your GP get his first chest hair exactly to date? Does he have the "correct" number of chest hairs? Or is that all individual... like sleeping through? (Seriously, I'm thinking of saying things like this next time.)
You know what's worse? If your child does sleep though, you're so lucky because someone else didn't sleep through for seven years. Why didn't you tell me this when I was struggling a couple of weeks ago? Grrr.
