We didn't strictly co-sleep in that DS was in his own cot but his cot was right beside my bed and we were pretty much face to face. We did that until he was 12 months. Then he went into his own room but there was only a doorway between us.
DD1 co-slept until she was 5. I didn't realise that was unusual, but it seems to be! DS didn't want to co-sleep, but if he wakes in the night (maybe once a week) he comes to our bed for a snuggle. DD2 co-sleeps full time and she'll move out when she's ready! DH and I love it and so does DD. Both of the girls have co-slept from our first night in hospital when they wouldn't sleep in their bassinet but settled immediately in my arms. DS likes to spread out when he sleeps and likes his own space in bed.
With DD, on and off until she was about two. With DS1, he's nearly 3 and DH or I still sleep with him. DS2 is also still cosleeping. We will be putting DS1 into his own bed in a few months because we are sick of our sleeping arrangements, as well as the fact that DS1 has no idea how to go to sleep by himself and we think he needs to learn. When DH has a week off work in November, we will be putting both DS1 & 2 their own beds. DS1, just because it's time to do so, and DS2, in the hopes we won't end up with the sort of sleeping arrangements we have now! As well as if he's still sleeping as badly as he does now, maybe sleeping alone might help him sleep better....maybe!
DD1 coslept until 19mths when we moved her to her own bed, own room in which she was fine with it. I was pregnant and we knew it was time.
Although she would wake once a night and walk down to our bed and crawl in with us. So we kinda were still cosleeping still just not full-time lol.
DD2 is in a bassinet next to our bed although cosleeps most of the night. Newborn snuggles
