Won't Go In Cot Thru Day...

I have the exact same problem with my DD and she didn't sleep in her cot .. EVER. It was our bed .. or no sleep for anyone. Someone on BB gave me the idea of putting the cot right next to our bed .. I also took the side off so I could cuddle her and she feels like she is in our bed .. but is actually in her cot. I did this for about 3 weeks and this morning DH and I put the side of the cot on and moved our bed about 30 cm's away from the cot. She had her morning sleep in her cot .. (she still cried a little but settled after 10 minutes of patting)

Next we move the cot to the other side f the room .. then out of the room in baby steps.

I really understand how it feels to have a bubby who is not settling down for sleep. I hope you find that magic thing that helpa her settle easily.

Oskar was around 6 months or a bit more before he really slept in his cot during the day. Now he's great with it. I can even put him in awake sometimes and he'll chat away then go to sleep.

He went through the stages of - only sleeping if I held him - up to around 2ish months old.
Then it was only on his belly up till around 4ish months old.
Then we were ok to sleep on mum and dad's bed until around the 6 months where he was happy to go to his cot.
Funnily enough he slept in a hammock at night ... EVERY night until 6 months but didn't like it during the day. At first with the cot he had to be asleep when I put him down, but now he can go either way but depends on if he THINKS he's tired or not...lol. He's 11 months now.

My DS and I used to both be crying when I tried to get him to sleep in is cot, or I would put him down asleep and he would wake up afet 1/2 an hour and then I would spend an hour trying to get him back to sleep. There were too many tears so I gave up. Now he sleeps on the couch for an hour or two and has two or three sleeps a day and sleeps great in his cot at night.
People told me not to do things during the day cos it would make him not want to sleep in his cot at night but it has never been a problem for us. It is also great cos he will sleep on anybodys couch or in his pram wherever we are!
It is great to have a baby that will sleep in their cot - It is better to have a baby that will sleep anywhere, no matter where you are and whats happening
Find out what works for you and go with it Just remember that you don't need to change ANYTHING untill you and your bubba want to!

Awwww thanks so much everyone for your advice...you are all great to give me your experiences! It has made me feel much better now, thanks again I agree, do what works for you...she'll grow out of it eventually (hopefully!)...
