I have posted this in another thread about PCOS but thought it might be of use to someone here also... I had two Implanon's first inserted in August 2002 and then replaced in August 2005, the second one was removed in August 2008. I have not as yet been visited by AF and went to see the Gynae early October and he feels the Implanon has resulted in my ovaries being put to sleep. So I might be starting Metformin next week but it depends on the outcomes of some further tests that the Gynae has done as he is not 100% sure if I definitely have PCOS or just cysts on the ovaries.
I loved my Implanon whilst it was in but I wish I had done some more research about life after Implanon as I honestly thought it would be out and then the next month or so I would be pg and now feel like I have a long TTC journey ahead of me that I have brought on with my choice of Implanon.
