your GP can arrange a lot of the testing for you, without having to see a specialist. i know i was diagnosed with PCOS by my GP through referral to have b/t's and untrasounds. once he had diagnosed me, he had to refer me to gyno for treatment as GP's can't prescribe clomid. when i didn't respond the way i should have to the clmid, i was referred to FS. i had minimal out of pocket costs to get to a dignosis - it's just been the treatment that's gonna cost a bit now! and i really wish i'd gotten on top of all of this earlier - 12 months of stressing that "maybe" there was something wrong just didn't help at all
