AF (kinda?) way early, antibiotics and not sure what to think?
Hi Girls,
I could go to the doctor but I'm at work til 3pm so who better to ask than you girls !
So I'm kinda freaking a little because, to cut a long story short, DH and I DTD in the wee hours of Monday morning (10/Nov) and today I went to the ladies and when I wiped I had a little bit opf blood on the toilet paper (sorry if TMI) So I'm not due for another almost two 13 days and I feel a little pain in my lower abdomen like AF pains.... sort of? I also started 50 mg doxycycline (antibiotic) on Sunday (09/Nov) and am a little scared because the doctor said not to TTC ( we weren't, we were just kind of fooling around and it got out of ....hand?......so to speak )
Aaaaanyway, I'm not sure what is going on? Why would AF rear her head this early (it's not full flow but definitely blood there?)
Hi prettybutterfly,
The bleeding could be form ovulation (?) Have you ever had this sort of bleeding before? It is also very very likely that the bleeding is from DTD. Doxycycline is not safe in pregnancy (will discolour bub's teeth & bones). It is unlikely to affect you this early (ie. if you DTD on monday then there is no implantation yet to cause problems to the embie.). Can you stop the antibiotics until you find out for sure? I'm assuming you're on it long term for skin condition - try using something topical like clearasil for now. HTH and maybe speak to your Dr or pharmacist for more advise.
I too have had bleeding after DTD and like you was not due for another two weeks. However that two weeks is up and havent had any signs of AF. My mid cycle bleed wasnt heavy but lasted about 4 days and was enough for me to know it was there.
Now I am worried because although another baby is in our plans, its not just yet. Have had about oh I dunno 10 negative tests and even got a first response one yesterday and that was negative too but am not feeling safe just yet.
Why dont our bodies do what they are supposed to when they are supposed too? Save alot of stress wouldnt it?
I know, it's my body so you would think it would listen to me hey ? Well this has never happened before after DTD so I was alittle taken back that I have any sort of AF right now and feel crampy like this. I just started antibiotics on Sunday . After I came off the pill last year in June my skin went terrible and I have tried e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g under the sun to try and get it better...... Fish oil, vitamin B5 Therapy, B12, Zinc supplements, Inner Health Plus everyday, saltwater bath, olive leaf extract, selenium, tea tree oil, clearasil, toothpaste, peroxide, nutmeg, natural yogurt, proactive and so many other things and antibiotics were my absolute last resort so I've only been on them for 4 days. So I could stop taking them until I know for sure.
For those who bleed after DTD do you get AF like pains in your lower abdomen too ??

Prettybutterfly, this may help for your skin (*warning may irritate it initially)
wash twice a day with Cetaphil wash. Only use cetaphil moisturiser (no other moisturisers, avoid heavy makeup. Wear mineral makeup if possible). There is a product called eventone glycopeel (avail. from your pharmacy). It is actually for fading discoloured skin but will renew new skin and therefore help acne scarring. Apply twice a week for 5 minutes then wash off. apply cetaphil moisturiser. do this for about a month then start using daily for 5 minutes after washing face. Protect skin with a mineral based sunscreen such as no zinc.
Use less often or discontinue use if irritation is severe (may have some peeling initially - rare). HTH.
Hey Prettybutterfly.
Sorry if this post comes a little late- but I would definitely hold off on the antibotics until you know for sure if you are pg. Better to be on the safe side.
Also, you may wish to check out the Miessence range of certified organic skin care, personal care and mineral make-up. It is the purest available in the southern hemisphere (I have done my research on this one!!). There is heaps of information on their website.
Have you tried doing a detox with herbal supplements before? Poor skin condition is often a sign that your internal organs of elimination (liver, kidneys, bowels etc) are struggling with their toxic load, and so the body tries to eliminate extra toxins via the skin (another major organ of elimination). Usually this occurs in the form of sweat, but it can also lead to poor skin condition (eczema, acne etc).
I'm not implying that you are unhealthy at all- as we are all consuming toxins everyday in the air we breathe, the food we eat (pesticides on veges etc), and the water we drink (heavy metals, anyone?), and our bodies express this toxicity in very different ways.
Just some suggestions......
