cycle length & early HPTs...any difference in timing
Even though my 'symptoms' turned out to be a virus I still have sore boobs, and just have the 'feeling' so I tested this morning with the early HPT and got the BFN. Has anyone had that turn into a positive closer to AF? AF is due Monday so not too far away. DD showed up as a BFP early (3 days, back then I had a 28 day cycle).
Does the length of the cycle change who "early" you can test??

I did the early detection test about a week out from af when pregnant with dd, got a bfn, then tested a few days after period was due and got bfp.

Its different for every woman!
The cycle length shouldn't really change how early you can test as I think in most cases it is always roughly 14 days between ovulation and AF (or no AF!).
However - your levels of the hormone that the HPT looks for might not be high enough until after AF was due, which means that if you tested before AF is due, it would show a negative.
There were some statistics in the pack of HPTs that I bought (Crystal Clear) that said something like (don't quote me) only 50% of women get a positive 5 days before AF is due, increasing slowly up to 93% or something on the day before AF is due.
If you want to be 100% sure, wait until on or after AF is due!
That is if you can be 100% sure when AF is due!!!

what sort of test is the early hpt? I was looking for one but my local shops/chemaist have very few products
I used the in stream 'Fortel' brand this time - cannot remember with DD if it was this brand, think it might have been a different one.
I'll be patient for a few more days
