BW it's not just pilots - aircrew, airfield technician type people, apparenlty it has something to do with the radar equipment used.

Just mentioned this to DP and he said he's heard it's hard for cyclists to have kids in general? But I guess as Em says it's not a rule.

I have heard though that men who are stressed are more likely to produce sperm with X-chromosomes and so are more likely to have all-girl families. Men who manage their stress better apparently are more likely to have all-boy families.

Apparently this was the result of a medical study; thinking of the men I know who have all girl families and all boy families, the stress-heads definitely had the girls!

It also said about the boy in the Navy has everything to do with the radar, XH little swimmer arent in the best shape due to this, but that said we have 2 off each lol... they also say that if your man has been away along time then your more likely to get a boy and if he is home all the time you get girls, we concived DS1 after xh was away for 4 mths

I wouldn't have a clue about cyclists, but as for pilots ... my close girlfriend's dad was a domestic and international pilot ... she had three younger brothers all conceived during his flying years : )

With our first DS, DH was riding 70kms a day 5 days a week and we fell pg with DS so I don't know how true it could be.

They also say truck drivers should only produce girls as well but we have 5 boys , lol.

I know a family with one girl and 3 boys and the father rides everywhere.... I think this theory is about the ideal temp the testes should be kept at (hence them being enclosed in the scrotum away from the body). There are loads of things that could also affect this such as the hormones produces by both the mother and the father... you think if the man is being competitive he would have high testosterone, and there for favour Y sperm production....??

Thing is... it may increase the likelihood of having girls, but it doesn't make boys impossible. You'll always find cases where the opposite has happened.

Hmm DP rides a LOT and we have 2 girls - no trouble concieving them either, first try both times!
Thinking of all the other full on cyclists that we know there does seem to be a larger number of daughters in the group..... might get DP to do a poll with his bicycle forum and I will report the results back
