Did anyone TTC for more than a year and find out nothing was wrong?

    Hi

Just wondering if anyone has TTC for a year or more, and then had testing and found out that nothing was wrong?

We have been TTC for 11 cycles, I have ovulated every time, had sex every single day in my fertile phase, used OPK's, pre seed, charted my BBT's, basically done everything I could, but no success .

We are about to start testing and I dont know what to expect. I dont even know whether or not to be happy if they find something wrong (because that could be fixable and explains why this is taking so long ) or whether to hope that this is all just us having bad luck???

I'm so confused! Look forward to hearing your experiences.

    HI there,
I undertand how frustrating it can be TTC month after month, getting our hopes up only to have them come crashing down when AF arrives. With me and my DH there are actually problems on both sides, I have PCOS, however wa unable to conceive even when on clomid. It wasn't until DH was tested that we found that 97% of his sperm were abnormal in head shape so that even if there was an egg, the sperm couldn't get inside. My point is, it could actually be an issue from your DH's side rather than yours. It wasn't until DH had an indepth analysis of his sperm that we found this out (prior to doing IVF ICSI). I think it was a relief to find out (Finally) what was wrong and that there was something we could do about it. ICSI i where the sperm is injected into the egg - we have had ICSI on 2 occasions and fell pregnant first go on each, this was after 6 years of unsuccessful TTC. Definately go and get checked out, just to ensure that there is not some issue that is preventing you from conceiving, at leat you will know where you stand and can get advice on where to go next.
    Goodluck

Hi there, DH and I tried for just over 12 months for our second DS before heading off to my OB/GYN. From there we tried Clomid for 2or 3 cycles with no success. We then headed to Hunter IVF and both did full sreening tests. Nothing came up as a result of those.

My IVF doctor had a theory though, as my cycles were always 27-29 days and sometimes AF wouldn't arrive till up to a week after and be much worse than others that he suspected that medication i had been and was partly still taking for arthritis may have been preventing a successful pregnancy and that i may have had a few very early m/c. Other than that he saw no real reason we were not getting pg other than it being "the luck of the draw".

Thankfully on our first IVF attempt we conceived Liam. I can completely understand were your head space is atm as the ongoing hope and then setbacks really do take thier toll on not only us but our partners and families and friends. My advice would be to go and have an appointment, get some testing done and go from there. Either way you will more than likely know if its bad timing or something else. No matter which way it turns out it means you are one step closer to getting a BFP. Good Luck.

I am in the very same position.

Infact we have been trying for 13 months and have just done the testing and get the results this afternoon.

I do not know whether to hope that maybe there is something wrong and it is easily fixed (as then we will have an answer) or to hope that there is nothing wrong and continue the frustraiting cycles although my doctor told me that some couples have nothing wrong with them and just are incompatable so I do not know.

I suggest getting the testing and at least then you will know what you are dealing with.

    All the best
