Nickers - I wouldn't mind knowing what my ph level is. I might get some of the strips if this cycle is not successful. How quick did your ph level change when you changed your diet? Does in-gender give you a diet plan? My current diet is ok for boy swaying, just had to cut out a bit of diary. Not completely cut but significantly reduced to only a teeny bit of hi lo milk and some cheese every so often...

well it said you should change it a month before ttc which i did but i think i started seeing a difference in levels within the first week. the hard part is keeping it up while ttc if it doesnt happen sraight away! i havent had to change heaps but mostly increase things like milk, eggs, cheese, drinking lots of cranberry juice.

Hey Guys. In a pooey mood coz I got my period this morning. According to my A-gender girl plan everything was just right for girl conception - ph, timing, energy, etc, but I do believe (as I feared) that the cranberry actually made me too acidic - maybe I had too much of the juice. There just wasn't enough EWCM there to sustain any sperm. I was shocked at how thick/gluggy the CM was immediately following O and immediately doubted a BFP despite my wishful thinking.
The only downer is now I have to wait 6 months to ovulate in a favourable girl energy period (according to the dates I have been given). Now I have to do the whole weigh up and ask myself 'is my desire for a baby girl stronger than my desire for a baby of either gender?' I think it is, but I really don't fancy putting off TTC til later in the year.... I love that my boys are close in age and I love carrying over winter and birthing in spring!! Oh, the dilemma....

I also just wanted to add that if you do the girl diet to make your ph more acidic it is imperative that you take probiotic supplements (friendly bacteria) everyday as being acidic increases your risk of UTI's and thrush. The probiotics will help to prevent this. Avail from fridge of your nearest health food store & must be kept in fridge!! Cranberry is good at preventing UTI's but nor thrush.

Nickers - I got the girl plan from A-Gender - not to be confused with In-Gender. A-Gender is an Aussie site and they are loads more comprehensive - plans include diet & supplement recommendations. Optimal dates can be purchased additionally.

oh jelly bean im so sorry to hear af has shown up......thats tough, when u have tried so hard and done so much and everything right...
in regards to becoming too acidic i am wondering if this is possible. last night i added a small amount of lime to dh sperm, and then looked at it through the ferning microscope and couldnt see any swimmers...... so night i looked at some before, they were swimming crazy, i added asmall amount of lime to a small amount of sperm, looked and no swimmers..... so i used the rest of the sperm without adding any lime.... dh hasnt changed his diet and his ph level is off the charts, so worrys me a bit that even with all my efforst to change my ph, the boys will still win cause there is so many of them!
i have told dh if this cycle doesnt work he has to take some supliments or something to lower his ph level some.
oh yes a gender i have heard of it. its really tough for you, i had both my boys close (18months) and i also want a spring baby! if i conceive this month bub would be due Oct, next month Nov and then im actually not wanting to ttc the following 3months after to try and avoid a xmas/new year and hot summer baby.
but then again in saying that same thing, my desire may take over and i dont know if i will want to stop ttc for 3 months after all the efforts with changing diet etc etc.

Lol - my thoughts exactly. Starting to seriously weigh up the pros and cons of having a 2 or 3 year gap between DS2 and the next bub. Part of me feels like just asking the heavens to send me a girl, and if it doesn't happen I'll know its my destiny. I know that probably sounds lame, but i would just like to DTD and forget about all this stuff. I know I will regret it though if I don't at least try all these things...... sigh.

Hi Bec, hopefully someone else with personal experience will pop in here. I only have experience with timing, not diet or any other methods. Our DD was conceived when we DTD on CD 10 and ovulated CD 14. With both my DS's we DTD at the time of ovulation. We will be swaying for a girl next time, so will use timing again. And if it doesn't work, we will have another gorgeous DS.

Good luck with your ttc journey!

    Hello!

seeings this is your 1st cycle since coming off the pill i would just try and use this month to see what your body does.
You can start taking your temps, every morning, b4 getting out of bed and at the same time, this will be one key to pin point ovulation.
but depends on how in depth you wanna go with the swaying, i am in month 2 of ttc a girl, and have changed my diet and taking temps, using cut off before ovulation etc.
if u go back to the front page of this thread there is stacks of info for ttc a girll.
it can be overwhelming and confusing.
Amanda, will be thinking of u tomorrow and thinking PINK!

Thinking of you today, Amanda. Everything crossed.

I'm going to be testing my pH levels throughout this month and hopefully the dietary changes have worked. I'm certainly not adding too much salt, I don't usually add any. I could probably prescribe my normal diet to anyone who wants a girl LOL. But O is cooperating beautifully, I'm getting a couple of days warning when my bbs start feeling tender and then really ouchy and EWCM on O day. So based on timing if we stop DTD at least two days before (using protection) and wait until bang on O it should help for a boy, right? Does it make a difference if I O in that night if I O earlier in the day. Morning lie ins are just not possible!

Sounds good J... just make sure you use protection before your attempt on O day SOunds like your CM may be acidic all except for O day. Try and have the Big O as mch as possible leading up tot your attempt, it will help you pH and with lining your cervix with favourable mucus.

    Hi Bec,
The first day of your period is Day 1 of your menstrual cycle. The last day of your cycle is the day before your next bleed. 28-31 days is the average cycle length, and indicates hormonal stability. Cycle lengths shorter or longer than this can inhibit conception attempts, so that's great that you are already in the 'ideal' zone.
Seeing as you are in Sydney, I would suggest you check out the Australian Council of Natural Family Planning website and find out where your nearest NFP centre is (there are plenty in NSW). If you make an appointment, they will go through in great detail with you how to chart your cycles, and identify ovulation based upon fertile signs and help with timing methods in regards to gender swaying - although, as with any gender swaying it is never 100%, just increases the odds.

Then I would check out the A-Gender website (as recommended to me by Tanya) and order one of their girl conception packs with the optional add on dates. That will provide you with all the latest up to date info on gender swaying techniques for a girl - including diet and supplements for you and DH, lunar influences, timing, ph levels etc.

I'm also TTC a girl in the near future to join my 2 gorgeous boys. Best wishes!!

    Jellybean :-)
