Hi all just looking for some advice/opinions. I'm currently 9dpo and just got a + hpt (confirm early test). What I don't get is my partner and I have been using the withdrawal method - everything I have read says 'pre' ejaculation doesn't contain sperm. Could this be a false positive??
Sorry if it doesn't make sense I'm a bit frazzled!!
He's usually really good with timing lol I guess it could've happened though! Just a bit of a shock. It was the cheapest test at the shop (confirm brand) so maybe a false positive? The second line came up within 5 mins and then got darker and darker
Yes it is possible to get pregnant using the withdrawal method. According to Family Planning Vic, 2 out of 10 women using this method get pregnant.
That doesn't necessarily mean you're pregnant, although getting a false positive on a home test kit is less likely than getting a false negative, you can get false positives if you read the test after the maximum time on the box. For the quickest definite answer, it might be worth seeing a GP, who can test again with a clinical-standard pee test & get a blood test done as well.
It is really early cd22/9dpo and AF not due til Monday/Tuesday. positive result appeared after 2mins and got darker and darker. Have had a bit of spotting this morning (but had this at the start of my last pg as well) have been to the shop and got a FRER to test with FMU tomorrow thanks for your replies ladies ill keep you posted!
Had more spotting yesterday but has stopped. If no AF by tomorrow I think I'll test again. Ive had quite a few 'symptoms' but am trying not to get my hopes up!
