Hi (warning: some graphic descriptions below re: mucous)

I wrote here a few weeks ago or so, about coming off the pill and seeing the dr etc re: rhesus factor etc.

Well, I have come off the pill during my last period (just over 2 weeks ago) and I went and saw the dr yesterday with my husband. I also asked about my pelvic pain as since Tuesday last week I've had a range of symptoms which got me thinking I might be pregnant. But I did a HPT on Saturday and it was negative (maybe it's still too early).

I started feeling 'on and off' nauseous since Tuesday, and have had really heavy dull ache across my front pelvic area & sometimes cramping (like period ache but different because it's in the front). I also had headaches by the end of the day all week at work (I hardly ever get headaches).
On Fri my mucous got really heavy, came out at once in a large cloudy wet blob with small blood streaks - sometimes fine bright coloured streaks, others browny old blood looking. (This scared me a bit to do the HPT). On Saturday evening, my mucous changed to all clear and really thick, I felt it come out but it was so thick, I ended up scooping it out. It was a little bright blood streaky. Still having the faint feeling of cramping.

DTD on the weekend just gone (edited to add: with condoms - we aren't trying just yet - but last weekend we had a slight 'accident' where some leakage on withdrawal but we were 98% sure I didn't get any near me), and felt pain in the right hand side of my pelvis / ovary area (real sharp). So relayed all this to the dr yesterday....

She determined I ovulated (so we're guessing I'm exactly half way through my cycle) if all's on track. (haven't had my first AF since off pill - only 2 weeks).

However, she felt a small lump in my right pelvic area and I have to have a pelvic ultrasound - request says "palpable mass in RIF, ovarian/bowel" (have booked - and have to wait until Thursday!) I am really scared!!!!!!!

Yesterday, I could feel my nipples a little tender when I showered. My boobs aren't sore like I always get before my period (usually get swollen boobs and whole boob sore) and I have woken up this morning and they are a noticeably tender to touch (nipple only) and maybe my boobs are a little bit bigger.

From yesterdays drs appointment, I am assuming I am possibly 2-4DPO. So if I am pregnant, I have to wait 14 days (is that right??) We never discussed that I could be pregnant at the drs. However, I do have a blood test to do (as we discussed that we are planning to conceive) and she is sending me to have the works (full blood test, electrolytes and liver function test, thyroid, group & antibodies, and to check my rubella) Will this tell if I am pregnant? I will try and do this later this afternoon (depending on when hubbie can take me - he did night shift last night and is sleeping - so depends if he wakes up and it's still business hours) I am the 'almost fainting' person when it comes to blood taking.

I guess I will just wait and see what my body does.

Am still scared about my scan on Thursday. I'm hoping it's nothing bad. Dr seems to think it may be a ovarian cyst that can happen when ovulating and it can go away by itself. (I hope that's all it is)

Just feeling lost, I had yesterday off work as I felt sick (more with worry I think) and also today I just feel really sad and having today off as well (as I was scared I would just bawl at work) which is not good when you work with mostly male technical people & hate your job. argh!

I will have to go back to work tomorrow (pays the bills and home loan) so hoping to put on a brave face tomorrow.

awww hun! Well....2-4 DPO?!?!? no theres no point testing yet. And yes u would need to leave it until atleast 12-14DPO... As for the small lump, if u are pregnant i doubt that anything would be able to be felt at 2-4DPO, so to me i say its unlikley. An ovarian cyst? yep that could be a posibility. But theres not much else we can say until we here ur u/s results. Good luck for them and fingers and toes crossed that its nothing too major ... xox take care

thanks for your reply Hollye, I will see what happens on Thursday.
I had another large blob of mucous already this morning (came out all at once and was about a mounded tablespoon. Same as first blob - the cloudy kind with both bright red blood and old blood stained.)

i'm sorry to hear that you are having a bad time of it at the moment! i am glad you went to doc and are getting further tests done. hope it all turns out ok. i dont have much help for you but i am thinking possible misscarriage? just cause of the amount of bloodstreaked mucous and cramps.. but i know that probably doesn't line up with your cycle and coming off the pill recently. plus you body can go all crazy after you just come off the pill too.. anyway.. good luck on thursday and let us know how you go.

Just an update

Went and had my pelvic ultrasound. Never had one before so was busting to pee and he was pressing that thing on my lower area and I was thinking 'ignore your bladder girl' haha.
Anyway he ended up recommending a transvaginal scan (i had to sign a consent) and had a big stick scanner put up me (graceful terminology)
He saw a collapsed follicle but didn't really tell me too much. So I am picking up my scans at 4pm on my way to my dr this afternoon.
I'm about to 'google' collapsed follicles but if anyone has any experience, then please let me know. I am guessing its nothing serious.

Had my blood tests straight after, and surprising felt fine. (i usually get *****ly, hot, colour drained and almost fainting). Maybe I am finally toughening up!

My nipples are still sore, I am still going to try a HPT this weekend and next weekend and if my AF comes then that's ok - as we hadn't actually officially started trying. (but DH says we should start trying now - but I'm not letting him near me until I reckon another week! Just from the pelvic pain and pain in my right side, which is not cramping anymore but I'm not taking any chances.

I asked the sonographer man, how early then can see a pregnancy - he said they can see them at least from 5 weeks, and he couldn't see anything. Which I know he won't, coz I am in that TWW only.
