oh bugger!!

reading Rosey's post reminded me of the blankets - and when I had mine, it was the weirdest thing waking up and the blanket was wrapped around me the same as it was when I fell asleep.. and that was weird cause I knew my legs had been up for the world to see, but it didn't feel like it at all - I didn't even know I was wearing a pad until the nurse got me up a couple of hours later to go to the toilet. it's a really surreal experience, and I kinda look back on it fondly now lol.
DH was very lovely, and bought me roses, which surprised the nurses. I hope you have someone else who can look after you, I really did need looking after that day especially. The day after I was okay at home alone - but you do need someone with you for the first 24 hours.
