Another failed IVF and feeling very down. I am 40 and that, along with my high BMI seems to be my biggest issues. I would love to know how many of my fellow BBers have conceived and had a successful pregnancy aged 40+. Naturally or through Assisted Conception, it doesn't matter, I just need something to stop me from feeling like giving up
I was 39 when I conceived my little man, took a year.
Last year my friends both at the age of 43 had little people (one a boy and one a girl), after about a year of trying.
Don't give up,
Hugs,
Don't give up hunni, not just yet, I'm right behind ya! I'm sure there are a lot of women who have fallen preggers after 40. I know one close to home, she's 43, had a child who is 12 now and then she got preggers naturally and just had a baby. THERE IS PLENTY OF HOPE!!!!!!!!
I'm the result of a 40+ conception and I have a little brother too (little brother is almost a foot taller than me but he'll always be my little brother lol).
My friend fell after trying for 6 months with one baby at 42 and then a surprise at 44! My Aunty had both my cousins when she was in her early 40's. There is lots of success stories!
Hi had just turned 41 when we fell pregnant with DS on round 5 of IVF. He has just turned 2. While the docs won't say that stress isn't a factor I think this did play a part in our previous failed attempts. I had a very stressful job and went through 4 failed attempts. Stopped for a year and tried again after being made redundant when stress was no longer there. And guess what it worked despite my eggs being 2 years older than our first attempt!
Best of luck - remember it only takes one good one x
I had Connor at 40 through IUI, 20 months ago, am now 42 and considering trying for a second one next year......i have a family history of late life babies.
I was 6 weeks pregnant on my 40th birthday - a natural conception. Then tried very hard for 5 years naturally, IVF and donor eggs but no luck. Don't give up.
In my mothers' group when I had DD there was one 40 yr old pg mum-to-be who had successfully conceived through IVF (first baby, DH 50). Another had conceived naturally at 42 after several m/cs (also had a 12 year old DD). Last year, one of my friends had her third DD at 40, also has a 5 and 7 year old.
In our area, having a baby at 40 is common. Me having a baby at 29 was not at all common. At 34 I'm just hitting average.
My mum is 42 nearly 43 and had my little sister in feb 2011. She also had my brother in 07 (38 or 39??) She also fell pg at 40-41 but had an abortion. So 3 pregnancies between 38/9 to 42.
