My Aunty had 4 gorgeous girls, and my Uncle had a Vasectomy. She fell pregnant again quite a while after (not sure exactly how long as I can't remember off hand how old my youngest and 2nd youngest cousins are), and had another little girl. So it does happen.
Does he remember if he went back after a few months and had his sperm count confirmed as zero? Failure is more common in men who never checked, although not impossible for those who did.
Yep its possible. My brothers best mate and his wife had four children, he had a vasectomy and they are now expecting number 5. Their youngest is about 4 yo
It's one of my fears LOL. Every time I'm late I start getting a bit antsy and even 2 months ago I was nudging 60 days on my cycle and I did do a test. It is entirely possible to fall pg again afterwards and some techniques do have higher chances of failure than others - usually the one where they use clips on the vans deferens instead of actually cutting and suturing them. Maybe it's just one of those things - I notice as I'm getting older my cycle is changing a lot too now as I head towards peri-menopause but it would probably put your mind at ease if you did a test.
bump...to Faithful Mumma did you POAS and were you UTD?
2 days late, have had spotting just before AF was due. I don't feel pregnant but the nagging thought is there. DH had a vasectomy in 2008 but I have been using hormonal contraception since then to reduce period pain but I came off it a couple of months ago. This of course could be the reason for the missing period. However my normally very low cervix is currently very high (barely reachable) and quite soft so again, the thought is there.
Ironically I recently asked DH to have his vasectomy reversed and when we talked about it we decided it was a bad idea and our family was complete. Only time will tell if the decision is in our hands or not I guess. He didn't ever get his sperm count checked :/
