question for you all.. please I need help

I dont really know whats going on with my body at the moment...

I haven't been on birth control in about a year and a half (before that was the pill)
my last peirod in march was on the 8th and ended on the 13th
I was with my boyfriend.. and had unprotected sex on the 26th of the same month (the night before we just.. *cough* didn't go in on the 25th)

on the first and second of april I lightly spotted.. really light pink blood.. and so I took a test.. probably way to early and it turned out negitive (I had it taken at school) and who knows I probably took it early (on the 9th) on the 10th I took another test and it turned lightly positive.

I've had a few things like having to pee alot..
    being sick to my stomach..
    a white mucus discharge..
but I dont know if they were self done because I was worried about being pregnant at the time or not.

before hand my lower stomach was cramping up (the week of the 4th - the 10th), I haven't had anything this bad in a long long time and I'm normally really regular for my period.. (was only 2 days late) I started bleeding late thursday night after taking the test, it stopped early staturday evening and hasn't returned as of yet. In what I've known and can remember with my body I've never had a period this short even when I wanted it and now I'm freaking out.

.. I was also somewhat sick thursday and friday nights (I had a 102 fever) and I'm afraid that during that time I may have miscarried.. and I dont know when to test or when is ok to test.. I finally told my boyfriend last night as well and I'm at a loss for words at the moment and dont really know how to feel anymore about all this and I'm afraid to test more or less.

can somebody please shed some light on some of this for me

is there any hope that I might still be pregnant?

    Hi Angell

Okay...So lets see if we can figrue this one out...Firstly, I would take the test again. Been a while since I took one, but I think you need to test about a week after your period was due (unless you get a special test) The box should tell you - that or ask the pharmacist, they will be able to explain it to you.

Secondly, the sickness and light period you experienced could be nerves and stress. stress has a huge impact on your cycles. Can I ask how old you are? Your age can also impact the regularity of cycles

I have miscarried, and you would know if you did - it is painful and not at all like a period (in my experience) a few of the other girls maybe more help there. As for the fever, I dont know fahrenheit, but the girls that chart their cycles will tell you about the high temp thing whenyou have you period or ovulating or something like that!! lol sorry not much help with that one!

You do however appear to have had unprotected sex in the middle of your cycle, so the possibility is there that you may be pregnant. Like I said though, I think yo ushould try to relax until you take another test. Buy 2 pack. Do the test first thing in the mornig ad make sure you follow the instructions fully, or it will be inaccurate. Lastly, dont be affraid of testing "more or less" - you canot take the test too often - just remember that the hormones will be strongest int eh morning for most people, so the first wee of the day is when you ideally want to test (the instructions will tell you everything you need to know)

If you still cant get a definitive answer, go to the doctor.

So hang in there and just wait and see what the test says And good luck with whatever you want the answer to be

I'm 22 years old (I doubt his age makes a difference but anyways he's 31)
my cycle has been regular up to this point pretty much for the last year and a half.. since the bc stopped it from being wonky from getting off of it and out of my system (I re-looked it up and its been longer then a year) and before that has been mostly regular since I was about 17 or so

.. I'm normally on a thirty day cycle (I believe) I just know I write it down and thats what it looks like at the moment from the past year or so.. and I know I'm under alot of stress for school thats what the doctor pointed out (I'm an honors student at the moment so its always test this test that.. lets test somemore however looking from the past semesters, all the testing makes me a few days earlier reather then a few days late when I'm that highly stressed out)

I donno if that will make a difference in knowing though

and of course.. right after I post and am about to go to a class .. I'm starting to spot again.. its so light that I need to and have had to use a pad because it doesnt fill the tampon enough within the time period between changes.

    sorry if thats tmi

.. and I plan on taking a test in a few days.. probably this wendesday or so.. or whenever I can stop shaking enough not to drop another one again

Oh! When you said you were at school I thought you may have been young - like 16/17 - and that might mess with your cycles...But your not! lol

Well, I would hang in there until you take the next test...being an Honours Student would be pretty stressful, and since you stopped taking the pill so long ago, you should be back to normal by now.
I know it's hard, but try not to worry...you cant do anything about it either way until you know for sure, so test again when you feel comfortable, and let us know how you go!

When I was trying to confirm my pregnancies, I found most (if not all) of the home preg tests say that you can test from the day your period is due. It can be inaccurate if tested before that. With my second pregnancy, I got a "light period" just after I received confirmation of the pregnancy, nothing like my usual. My doctor said this is not uncommon as (in her words) "the little one was just settling in and your body was adapting".

Hope this helps. Good luck with outcome!

Do another test, but make sure it is a sensitive one. I have tested positive when AF was due and a couple of times about 4 days before it was due but these were with ultra sensitive tests. The ones that came up very faint didn't stick. The only strong positive I got was with this pregnancy.

There's no way to tell if you have miscarried really without testing. Everyone's experience is different.

My experience with early miscarriage is that it can be very light bleeding - once I had spotting for two weeks, the other two were 3 days of lighter bleeding than a normal period and absolutely no pain whatsoever.

    Good luck.

.. well I took the accu-clear (early pregnacy test) it say.. as early as the first day of a missed period.

theres a faint hardly disernable line from the box of pink around it after the 3 minutes are over from waiting.. and now its been about 10 minutes and the whole box is still as tinged pink as the line was.. and I'm all confused.. it talks about lines.. not the box being different colors?
(the other box the reference window, the pink color completely cleard from around the line .. so it was only the results window box that is doing this)

did I get a weird test or do it wrong or something maybe?
(I followed the dirrections carefully before I did it)

the last one I took before I started bleeding was the same brand.. but there was a faint line that stayed, now I'm unsure if I am or not.. my boyfriend is asking.. and all I want to do is cry.. cause i'm gonna have to wait until tomorrow morning to take another one... (different brand this time) or do I need to?

(now after about 15 minutes) the box has faded.. and theres a line.. but its hardly desernable you have to be looking for it and pretty closely.. (not the whole arms lenth away) and .. well it says not to read after 10 minutes.. so I'm even more confused

oh honey im not sure...I dont know the brand.

Is it a dip one or a stream one? So long as you havent tipped it upsidedown or on its end then it should be accurate....Maybe its too early to tell? The only pg test Ive ever taken have been instantly obvious...so I dont know what to say.

You shouldnt have to wait until tomorrow, maye try another one later...

Try another brand too...I used "drystal clear" but I dont know if you can get it over there - you in UK or US? Hopefully one of the other girls will be able to recommend a brand for you.
Generally I think though, they become inaccurate if the certified time elapses. So if they say wat 3 mins, then after 20 mins of and hour the reading isnt accurate. Is it a midstream test?
Maybe next test you do reread the instructions and ake sure you are holding it the right way up etc before you begin again.

Then again I suppose it is a possiblility that the test is neg (but as I cant see it and dont know the test Im not sure)

In the meantime, tell your boyfriend to be patient, your body takes time to know whether or not you are pg and the test is only accrurate if you have certain hormone levels for it...just ask him to be patient because he is making you nervous.
    *hugs*
