    Quick question

    What is Ovulation mucus like?

For the past 2 days i have noticed i have a white thick discharge and today i have notice a very thick but CLEAR egg white like discharge and i have no idea what that is!! Just looked up it may be that i am ovulating? If so how long do i have before it goes away and how long do i have to fertile the egg?

    Sorry for the greasy details.

    Thanks

That sounds like fertile CM. It varies from woman to woman, you could get it for a few days before O or just before O.

I'd say you are most fertile now - so go for it till the mucus dries up!

Thanks heaps! Better get to it tonight!

Does the clear stretchy mucus start at the time of being fertile? Or does it only happen the day that your body is releasing an egg? Sorry for all the question. I have just had a white thick discharge the past 2 days and then today it is thick and clear and sooo stretchy...ok sorry to much detail

you are def fertile, you are somewhat fertile on the creamy days too, when the eggwhite stuff comes out then it can usually last 2 or 3 days depending on your age and health of your reproductive organs! it is always dries up 2 days after you ovulate....goodluck in catching that egg tonight.....the eggwhie helps carry the sperm to the egg!!! I say you have a 99% chance of falling pregnant!!! lots of babydust to you!!

    Thank you!

Well yesterday when i was at work i went to the toilet and noticed i had the fertile mucus and lots of it But after going to the toilet and wiping most away (once again sorry for gorey details) there didn't appear to be anymore after that? Could this mean i missed the egg? I have only had the egg white like discharge come yesterday so not sure if it will come again today? Does it last all day or does your body just produce a certain amount? Could this be the reason why it didn't come back that afternoon once i went to the toilet?

I'm sorry for all the horrible details! This stuff is just confusing

The amount of CM you produce is very individual - everyone is differenet. CM is produced by the cervix and some of it will "travel" down and out This is what you observe externally. There might still be some CM present at your cervix (where you want it to be). Presence of CM does not necessarily mean you have ovulated. It is just a sign to indicate the fertile period of your cycle. CM is produced a few days before and in some cases, upto a day or two after ovulation. It usually dries up straight after ovulation though. It is merely an indicator that you are fertile and could get pregnant if BD is timed right ( 5 days before ovulation and day of ovulation - so your fertile window is 6 days per cycle). The idea is to start BD as soon as you see fertile mucus (creamy , wet or stretchy eggwhite). This is your fertile "window". After ovulation, the egg is able to be fertilised for 12-24hrs only, so the best chances of conceiving is BD before ovulation.

Don't stress too much. From what you have told us, seems like you may have caught the egg! Good luck and for you. HTH.

Have you tried charting your temp? This gives a definite indication of when you have ovulated ( but in retrospect only after ovulation, so can't use to time BD first cycle). It does help to pinpoint the the likely fertile period of your cycle though. fertility dot com is a good site to get you started.
Also are your periods regular? Average luteal phase (days from ovulation to menses) is usually 14 days. Get an average of your last 3-6 cycles and subtract 14 from it.
eg. average cycle length 30 days - 14 days = 16. So you are most likely to ovulate around day 16 of your cycle. Start BD daily or every 2nd day from day 11 and continue until you think you have ovulated (CM dries up). Although, if you are BD frequently, it's difficult to distinguish CM from semen
Good luck. I know TTC can be very confusing and often frustrating. You are showing good fertile signs though, so your journey should be very short. Hope to hear your good news very soon. for a for you.

    Hi Serenity...

Some women can experience ovulation pain when they're ovulating. I experience it myself and they feel a little like AF cramps but a little sharper.

    Ovulation pain is totally normal!

Sending babydust your way and hope you get your BFP!

I think i may have missed it Today i have no CM unlike yesterday. Tuesday and wednesday i had thick white CM but not alot of it and Thursday had lots of Clear stretchy CM which has not returned today. After going to the toilet yesterday afternoon the CM did not seem to come back and last night i had sex but maybe i left it to late since the CM didn't return and hasnt come back

Don't stress yet. Cramps you got was prob ovulation pain like BeccaLee has mentioned. Which means you may have ovulated yesterday, BD last night and hopefully caught the egg! No CM today means you have high chances of having ovulated yesterday. Good luck.
