short luteal phase and vit B6

Is there anyone out there who can tell me if they found Vitamin B6 to really help them lengthen their luteal phase? I have had two cycles since coming off the BCP. Both were 39 day cycles but I only ovulated around CD29/30 with a 9 day luteal phase. I started taking Vitamin B6 (200mg) about halfway through the last cycle in the hope I would get a longer luteal phase but it didn't seem to do the trick. Perhaps it takes a few cycles? I'm interested in any feedback I can get as I am sooooooooo impatient and am pretty sure the Dr would just tell me I just need more time since coming off the BCP but I'm stubborn and want my bubba NOW!

I have had a short LP and I started taking B6 and my last LP was 13 days so it worked for me..

I have taken it for a while and my LP has progressively gotten longer.

I have also take Vitex but would not recommend it as it really messed with my cycle I think it was just too strong

    Good Luck

Thanks Kylie. How much shorter was your LP before the vit B6 and how long did it take before you started noticing a difference?

My LP was about 10 days and I started noticing the effects with the next cycle but I had taken the Vb6 for the whole cycle - I started from when I got my period and I think from memory I did not start to spot until 11 DPO.

I have been taking it ever since and last cycle got to 13 DPO before I started to spot.

Jaxi - I used to have short LP. It got down to about 9 days one cycle so I decided that I had to do something about it. I started taking b6 at the start of that cycle, unfortunately I can't tell you what it increased my LP to because fortunately I got a BFP instead. Good luck!!!

Kylie and AJC, you've both given me the hope I'm looking for. I was so miserable to see AF arrive at 9DPO again last cycle (this past weekend) as my temps were looking so good and I was so sure I was utd. I also haven't been getting temps consistent with approaching AF...they continue to rise and then a day or two after AF starts is when I start to see the temp drop. I'll continue taking the B6 and hopefully will notice a difference this time.

Was the opposite for me. I got a BFP on my first month of taking Vitex - Blackmores brand

Might of just been a co-incidence but I had a 9-day LP hence why I decided to try it.

I guess for you it is a matter of trying it and seeing if it helps you?

Thanks sasha. Good to know there's a few options to help lengthen the LP. I'll stick with the B6 for the next couple of months and see how I go.

AJC, are you continuing to take the B6 now that you're utd? When do you stop taking it?

Jaxi - I took it up until 6 weeks. I then started taking a pregnancy multi vitamin which has a bit of B6 in it anyway.

    Good luck!!!

Jaxi - Is there still a chance you could be UTD?? Is that what you're saying? It wouldn't totally suprise me because your temps were looking fantastic before suspected AF came along.

Tonydayl, sorry hun. No chance. AF is out and about in all her glory. I hope I can bring you better news this cycle though. Hoping the B6 makes a difference this time.
