Hi Peekay,
I also get sore nipples around the middle of my cycle, well not really sore, just senditive to touch, but i also get alot of tingling like pins and needles too. It will be interesting to see if other women do too....
Does anyone here get tender nipples?
Last night I noticed when getting undressed that my nipples were tender. I wouldn't say sore- just tender to touch. It's definitely not pregnancy related, but I'm hoping that it may be a sign of ovulation? They are still tender today. I've been on metformin for about a month now and had heaps of EWCM on Tuesday and Wednesday. After that I couldn't tell if it was EWCM or seminal fluid (sorry for TMI)
it may be ovulation. Can anyone shed any light?

Hi peekay,
My last natural cycle my nipples were killing me for about 4 days straight! Mine were more than just tender, they were sore and were constantly on high beamThis started up about 2 days before O and went away 2 days after.
The tenderness coupled with the ewcm sounds like it could be O for you!Have you been temping also? Cos this could confirm the O. Fantastic if the metformin is working for you.
Good luck
PS Good luck for your FS appt on Thursday.I hope you get all the answers you want. But who knows.... you could be UTD by then

Hi principessa!
Hope the TWW is going fast for you!!
I'm pretty excited at the possibility of ovulation!!Tender nipples are still here and some lightish cramping on and off is still happening (both since Friday). I started doing BBT on Tuesday when I noticed the EWCM. There was so much I couldn't help but notice and made a mental note to temp the next morning. I haven't worked out how to link FF (and I only started in on Wed) but these have been my temps:
36.4 (W), 36.3 (Th), 36.2 (F), 36.5 (Sat) and this morning I had another rise up to 36.8!!! So that's 2 consecutive rises so far! I'm looking for 3 right?
If my temps stay up I'm going to ask my dr (appointment Thursday!!) to do a BT to check progesterone levels. If I did ovulate on Friday as I suspect, then I will be 6dpo which is pretty good timing.
Fingers and toes crossed that I did O and caught it!
for you principessa! May we both be lucky this month!
EDIT: I just put in a 'mock' temp in my chart (37.1- another rise) and FF gave me a coverline and said O happened on Friday as I suspected. Now I just need to hope for another real rise!!

Hi peekay,
Definitely looks like O for you!Your temps so far look great. Did you end up getting that 3rd elevated temp?
Good luck with the FS on Thurs. When I went to my FS I told her I thought I'd O'd but she didn't believe me..... until I had the BTThey do find it hard to believe that you can O on a really long cycle but its definitely possible. Hopefully you caught the eggie!
Thanks for the baby dust. This has been the longest 2WW ever. I'm really starting to go nuts at this point.I hope I have an answer one way or the other by the end of the week.
I've got myfor us both this month!
Not long now principessa! In fact you'll probably get your BFP the same day I find out I ovulated! (Power of positive thinking)
My temp yesterday was 36.8 and FF gave me the coverline! This morning it was 36.9!I have been so excited about it that I can't go back to sleep after I take my temp. I get up straight away, put it on FF and then check here- a bit sad but hey, whatever gets you through right??
BTW- I'm already feeling a bit silly about asking my spec for a BT on my first appointment. I hope if she doesn't believe me, she disguises it well and does a BT anyway.![]()
Hi Peekay,
Sounds like you O'd! Yay - finally - the eggy got free!
Good luck with your FS appointment!
All the best,

yep! i can get this around ovulation time so definitely can be "O" signs!!![]()
Thanks for your replies ladies!
Temps have stayed up- again 36.9 this morning. Ticklish- if O hasn't happened then I am really going insane. There are just too many things for it not to be O IYKWIM?!
Does anyone ever have u/s to confirm O? Or does u/s just confirm follicles? I'd love to be able to walk out of the appointment tomorrow knowing for sure. A BT is much more likely though isn't it?? How long do you have to wait for results with a BT? Usually all my BT's so far haven't been urgent and I just get the results at the next appointment. Will I have to wait all weekend????????
Hi Peekay,
Temps sound good and seems like you did O.
Yes, I have had u/s to confirm O. U/s can confirm the size of the crater (the corpus luteum) left behind by the eggy after O. More accurate when combined with a BT depending on the size of the crater I think it should be about 18 -22mm - but don't quote me on that! I have had smaller ones - and then BT confirmed that it wasn't O - well, not a proper one anyway!
Results for BT should be back in about 24 hours. Ask your dr. You can always ring for the dr for the results and not wait until next appointment.
Good luck.

Hi peekay,
You're going to the Queensland Fertility Group right? If so you'll have your BT results within a couple of hours. Its really great. I had my BT at 9am and had the results by 12.30pm.
I hope all goes well for you tomorrow. I'm sure you will have O'd, it will just be the question of weather you caught the eggie.![]()
Well no BT for me today. The reason for this is that my dermoid is the most urgent part of my case at the moment as it can continue to grow and cause irreparable damage to the ovary (so much so that I would have to lose it). So I'm booked in to have surgery in 2 weeks time to remove it (27th Sept). I am absolutely and utterly petrified- but what can I do about it? Just have to deal with it I suppose

I spoke with her about the metformin and my possible ovulation on Friday and she asked a few questions and looked at my BBT chart and said things certainly look that way- but nothing else. I guess whether or not I ovulated is not the issue at the moment- but will become the issue after surgery. So I wait for a BFP or AF to confirm ovulation if it did indeed happen. A BFP will be the only thing to save me from surgery in 2 weeks, but I guess that's only delaying the inevitable.
Any advice on how to deal with the anxiety of facing surgery? Also I'm not sure how the medicare/private insurance thing works.
Thanks for listening
I'm sorry *hugs* i dont have any advice but i wanted to say all the very best sorry its not the best news for you...
peekay,
Sorry you've not had the best news todaybut the sooner the surgery is over the sooner you can move on to the next phase. But hey, you never know you could be in for a BFP.
At least its not too long a wait for the op. I think the longer you wait the more stressful things become. Just keep yourself busy over the next couple of weeks and the time will fly by. Try not to dwell on it too much (easier said than done I know). Everything is going to work out just fine.
Great that the FS confirmed you've probably O'd.But obviously if the FS thinks the dermoid is top priority then that's the way to go for now. Are they going to do any other exploratory stuff while they're in there? My FS mentioned ovarian drilling to rupture the cysts we have with PCO. Apparently that can really help O. It would be neat if while they were in there dealing with the dermoid that they could do a little drilling too.
Re. the Medicare/private health insurance thing - Medicare covers a portion of the Dr's fees (so the surgeon and the anaesthetist) and the private health insurance covers any private hospital fees (eg. theatre fees, room etc). How much of the hospital fees get covered depends on your level of insurance (ie. excess etc). HTH a little.
Good luck with the rest of your TWW![]()
Thanks Renstar and principessa.
I feel a bit better about it this morning. Still anxious, but I figure it's always good to face your fears and then this will be something I won't ever have to be afraid of again (that's what people are telling me anyway!)
principessa, my dr did say that any kind of surgery to the ovary can stimulate ovulation, so she's hoping that this will be a benefit from my surgery. Only my right ovary is polycystic but she didn't mention touching it- although she did say, and I gave consent, that if when she gets in there and sees any minor things she can fix she will do it (any endo etc.). During a different conversation she talked about drilling after no success with ovulation inducers so maybe there's an order to things.
One thing I forgot to ask is whether it is ok to be taking metformin. I'm sure I've read somewhere that you should stop it a few days prior to surgery. I must ring her to find out.
Well, I'm 7dpo. She told to do a HPT before the surgery and although I know the dermoid has to come out one day, after a baby would be much more agreeable to me! So fingers crossed!
Principessa- you test today right???I really hope this is it for you
. Have you had any symptoms? All the best!!
Hi peekay,
Well no good news here. AF has arrived today. Its pretty depressing really especially cos now the whole process again - meds and BTs (I had 5 BTs last cycle). Hopefully we've found the right dose for me now cos I had to wait to CD29 to O this last time.
Sending you somepeekay. I hope this is your month - what a great reason to delay your surgery! Only 1 more week to wait..... I hope it goes really quickly for you.
I'm so sorry principessaAll my positive thoughts are with you as you begin your next cycle and continue the journey to begin your family.
that this next cycle is the one
.
Yes only one week to go for me. I'm feeling very positive today, but about everything in general- not just a pregnancy. I know there may be a long road ahead, but at least I'm travelling in the right direction.
A little girl in my class (I teach Prep) said to me today- "Do you have any children?" On any other day I might have become teary, but today I was able to say truthfully "One day I will. But right now I have 23 children everyday who I love." I'm so lucky to do what I do.
All the best for your upcoming cycle.![]()
