Zoladex but no returning period, help!

Does anyone have a similar experience?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am a 20 years old woman from Norway with endo. November 2006 my gyno did a laproscopy on me and he found out that I had endometriosis. Since I didn`t respond very well on contraception pills he presented the zoladex treatment for me. Stupid me didn`t know better so I said it was ok and I wanted to try the zoladex injections. Desember 2007 i got the first injection. In the middle of january I had hot flushes every ten minutes and I couldnt sleep or concentrate. I went back to my gyno and he gave me medication to calm down the hot flushes. In March 2007 I got my second and last zoladex injection. Then I started to count the months and looking forward to be normal again. In september 2007 I got a little bit anxious because I still had heavy hot flushes and my period doesnt return. So I went back to my gyno, but she said that I just had to wait a little bit longer before I would get back to normal. Now it is january 2008 and I still have the same problems with flushes and no returning period. It is ten months since i got the last injection with zoladex. My gyno have never experienced that a patient havent got back her period after so long time before so she don`t know what to do to get my cycle back. Somewhere on bellybelly.com I read something Michellew had written. She had written something like that top gynos in Sydneyd didn`t use zoladex anymore because there were som cases were women got a permanent menopause using zoladex. I got very worried when I read this so I hope someone can tell me more about this and hopefully you have a link were I can read more about it and show it to my gyno here in Norway. I`m thinking about science related information or just similar experiences. I am worried big time because my biggest wish in the world is to get pregnant. I hope you Michellew read this and I would be very happy if you or someone else will write me back on this forum or on mail. My emailadress is: tt_lise@hotmail.com
    Thanks!

I just found your message and would be really interested to hear what has happened to you since you posted.

I feel like I may be in a similar situation. My last Zoladex injection was September 22nd after being on the drug for nearly 3 years. My periods have not returned yet and I'm feeling panicky. I've got an appointment with my GP in 2 weeks.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I had a six-month course of Zoladex (March-September 2008) and was fortunate to have regular cycles within six weeks of my last injection.

However, according to information on the box and through talking with my specialist, 1-2% of people on the treatment go into natural menopause as a result. Blood tests may be able to determine the level of oestrogens in your body now, which could help you determine whether you were one of these (unlucky) people?

I know, it's not the most comforting of news, but every treatment has its risks...

    Zoladex Injections

Five years ago I had Breast Cancer and had to have Tamoxifen tablets, when they finished my doctor said I need to have Zoladex injections to stop my body from producing oestrogen. My Cancer was oestrogen positive. So he said have Zoladex injections once a month for three to four months. Which he also said this would put me into early menopause. If I can handle the side effects from the Zoladex (hot flushes, vag dryness,no more periods, etc) then I had to have my ovaries removed. If I didn't want them removed I had to stay on Zoladex injections for five years. Which from what I can understand means menopause for five years. I don't know if Zoladex can be used for other treatments that stop you from producing oestrogen. I have never heard of this before. I don't want to scare you but I would be talking to someone else or get a second opinion. Maybe once you stop taking them long enough your periods may return.I would go and see a different doctor. I hope I have helped and not made your anxiety worse.
