Hi lilbooties,
Welcome to BB and Yes, this is a fantastic site if you are looking for advsie, info or support. The ladies are really lovely and everyone is very helpful. You will find heaps of answers and support here - no question is a stupid ques!
Congratulations on your decision to TTC. I agree with the other girls. Basically start folic acid or a good pregnancy multivite and start BDing Goodluck. Hope your TTC journey is a short and sweet one. Lots of babydust.
When you go to the main forum area you will find a list of every topic in the forums. Take the time and have a look around and you will soon figure out where to post about certain topics! If you do happen to post somewhere that isn't right then a moderator will just move it for you. Give yourself some time to find your way around and you will be addicted in no time!!
Good luck TTC! I'm about to go off the pill too (though not TTC yet) and I'm wishing you all the luck in the world for a BFP. You must be so excited!!
Hi Lilbooties and welcome to BB!!
If you are old enough to get married then you are old enough to have a bubba- so don't worry about what people say! Besides, youth will work in your favour when trying to conceive (TTC!!)
Check out my rather long post in the General Conception Forum titled 'Natural Conception Advice' - it may be quite far down the page. It contains heaps of advice about increasing your chances of trying to conceive naturally.
I also recommend what others have said above- you will need to start monitoring your cycles, so you know when you are ovulating (when you are fertile). Incase you weren't sure, the first day of your period is day 1 of your cycle, and ovulation usually occurs on or around day 14- so DTD (doing the deed) from about day 11 to day 15 is recommended. Don't do it too much though- as this will wear you out and it lowers the sperm quality. Doing the deed twice in that 4-5 day period is recommended- with at least a 1 day break in between!! Observing your CM (cervical mucous) on a daily basis will also give you an indication of when you are ovulating. When your CM changes from thick/whitish to clear, watery and runny (like raw clear egg white in a freshly cracked egg)- then you know you are ovulating and at your most fertile time. There are also kits available at the chemist which involve taking your temperature, to indicate when you are most fertile.
Best of luck!!
