    wasnt expecting this to happen

well my last AF arrived on the 4th of may which was only last week. i stopped taking my pill on tuesday the 13th may and wasnt expecting to see AF until next month but here she is today friday the 16th! i really wasnt expecting this... is this a normal thing to happen? does it mean i have already ovulated since being off the pill? or is it just my body kicking back into gear minus the pill? and should i now count this as the first day of my period ( in terms of keeping track of it all?)

is this a normal thing to happen?
When coming off the pill I think there is no such thing as "normal" from what I have seen posted on here. I had no AF for 8 weeks so on the other extreme!

Hopefully it will settle into something regular for you next cycle

    Very "normal"
It's like when you take non-active pills, you get your period - that's what you've done.
You should find it to be a lot less though (that's what ive noticed)

    Hollo

what you have experienced is not actually a 'real period'... it you havent gone through a cycle , ovulated and now expelling the lining.

It is what is referred to as a withdrawl bleed which very commonly happens when the hormones in the pill are stopped and your body thus adjusts and you have a little bleed which often resembles a period.

It is completely normal and hopefully your cycle should start up again soon.

thanks for the info girls. actually this bleed is a bit different to my normal AF.. its quite heavy as in a lot of it but its really watery like its consistency.. its quite strange.

just another quick question.. i was on the pill for years and years then went off it and 3 months later fell pregnant with first daughter.. now though i was only on the pill for about 3 months and am wondering if that means it wont take as long to fall pregnant cause i wasnt taking it for such a long time? or is it hard to say what will happen?

Pinkpalace is right about her answer, it is withdrawal bleeding.

As far as concieving sooner goes, i dont think it would make much of a difference. Increase ur chancing by staying extremly healthy and it will happen soon enough good luck!
