    When should I start worrying?

I know it takes a little while after birth/loss for AF to come back, but when should I get worried about "her" not coming? It's been 9 weeks since Ianto was born, and I think I O'd a couple of weeks ago (I got what I think was EWM), but nothing else has happened since. I've already done two HPTs, both negative, so I'm fairly certain I'm not pregnant yet.

I usually have very irregular periods, sometimes having a few months of the being normal, and sometimes with up to 6 or so months in between. I've never been given a reason for this, no matter how many doctors I mention it to.

Again, I'm not saying I'm worried right now that AF hasn't shown up, but I think soon I might start getting panicky about it. So could someone give me an estimate of when it turns from "it's alright, your body's just getting back to normal" to "get to the doctor, there's potentially something wrong"? Should I be worried already that it's been nine weeks without any sign of her coming?

Re: When should I start worrying?

Not sure about when she should come back hun, sorry. Someone will be in with more knowledge on that than me Tbh your body is probably just taking a while to get back inthe swing of things. Also with all the stress you've been under, it may have delayed af further. I'm sure everything is okay though

As for af regularly, have you ever jad any testing for pcos or endo or anything? Seems weird that doctors have just overlooked that I would be pressing for an answer there. I hope that af arrives soon for you so you can start ttc (if that is what you are planning to do)

Nope, never had any testing past a pap smear - if she's not back by the 13th I'll ask at my next appointment at the hospital (at my 6wk follow-up they did a smear and a blood test, so we might get an answer) - hopefully someone will take notice this time!

Just be firm. I think they will definately be more inclined to take notice of you now though. Explain your history of your irregular periods etc to the doc, and ask to be tested for pcos especially. Maybe look up the symptoms and see if you think that's you (although I thought I might, but didn't have it). Maybe if that comes back clear look into getting looked at for endo too. But like I said, I think they will totally listen to you now so just make yourself absolutely heard

gah, why did you put PCOS in my head? I've already been thinking about that, and now I've looked up symptoms, I've convinced myself I have it!

TeniBear I'd give it 3 full months (not lunar months) from Ianto's birth and then see your Dr. I am sure it can take longer then this for AF to come back but seeing as you want to ttc again I would see them at that stage. If you were not wanting to ttc I'd even wait 6months but as you are I wouldn't want to wait that long myself and I am sure you wouldn't either. At that stage allowing plenty of time for AF to return maybe they can give you provera to bring on AF if it hadn't arrived in the hope you will then be due for AF again 4-5weeks later after the provera induced AF but of course would be hoping its a BFP before then. Just a suggestion although I hope she comes before you need to see someone about it or a BFP instead. Best of luck.

Thanks Mildez I'll bring it up at my appointment on the 13th, see what they say. If I'm not happy with that, I'll wait til it's been 3 months and see my GP, I suppose. Just wish I knew what was going on. I'm terrified Ianto was a complete fluke and my only shot at an unassisted conception

I think its only natural to think like that Tenibear and that is for myself and others who haven't been through the trauma you have so I can only imagine how just feel to want to have your body back to normal so you know where you are at and can concieve again. From memory from another thread Ianto was concieved with ease wasn't he? I am sure no 2 will be too when your cycle returns or hopefully before . I have everything crossed for you that it happens again soon.
