    Help!!

Hi all just looking for some advice/opinions. I'm currently 9dpo and just got a + hpt (confirm early test). What I don't get is my partner and I have been using the withdrawal method - everything I have read says 'pre' ejaculation doesn't contain sperm. Could this be a false positive??
Sorry if it doesn't make sense I'm a bit frazzled!!

    TIA

Could he perhaps not pulled out in time, and not realised?

He's usually really good with timing lol I guess it could've happened though! Just a bit of a shock. It was the cheapest test at the shop (confirm brand) so maybe a false positive? The second line came up within 5 mins and then got darker and darker

    Re: Help!!

There is disagreement as to whether or not pre ejaculate contains sperm. I would think it is definately possible.

Generally there's no such thing as a false positive

    Help!!

Yes it is possible to get pregnant using the withdrawal method. According to Family Planning Vic, 2 out of 10 women using this method get pregnant.

That doesn't necessarily mean you're pregnant, although getting a false positive on a home test kit is less likely than getting a false negative, you can get false positives if you read the test after the maximum time on the box. For the quickest definite answer, it might be worth seeing a GP, who can test again with a clinical-standard pee test & get a blood test done as well.

    Re: Help!!

I was going to suggest FRER test. I have heard of people getting pregnant like this. Did you DTD around O time?

    Re: Help!!

Yes we did DTD around O time. I've been really grumpy and have had some bloating but assumed it was PMS. We'll see I guess!

FRER this morning with FMU came up negative! I think it's safe to assume the first one was just a false positive

What happened with your spotting?? It is still quite early, I would wait and see is AF arrives in the next for days and if not test again!

    Re: Help!!

Had more spotting yesterday but has stopped. If no AF by tomorrow I think I'll test again. Ive had quite a few 'symptoms' but am trying not to get my hopes up!
