ok cool! that one is a little bit out of my league! i could justify about $700 if i know it will last for ever(well almost) and has a decent motor and warrenty.
I have the Kenwood patissier mixer. Have only had it since my birthday in May, but I love it. It seems pretty sturdy and mixes well. I'm happy with it and DH did all the research about which one to choose for me, so he probably knows better than me why it's so good!!
i looked at that one but it only has a 400w motor and being that i killed my mix master with a 600w i think i might need something a bit more powerful.
i think it definatley needa full metal body though....

I was tossing up between a Sunbeam cafe series mixer and a kitchenaid. I ended up with the Sunbeam one (MX8900) I just checked it and it says on the side that it is 850W. But i don't know if that means both the motors in it?
I've only had it since May, but love it and DH loves it too, he uses it to make pizza dough
I have a kitchenaid we were lucky enough to get it as a wedding present, I don't think DH would have let me spend that much money on a kitchen appliance otherwise. It's amazing, I love it and use it all the time. I've had it for nearly 4 years, I love the attachments it comes with and it just whips up cakes etc like a dream.
I have a sumbeam cafe series 850w and it goes like a charm...plenty of grunt and we have had it two years now with absolutely no probs. and it gets used all the time (actually lives on the benchtop it is used so often). I would recommend it to anyone but make sure it is the cafe sereies model you get as the cafe ones have stronger motors and other components.
