Rice cookers?

Problem is that it's going brown while it's still cooking :'( if I've noticed it starting, I've stirred it and that reduces it but doesn't stop it

I add more water than the instructions say, and take the container out as soon as it finishes. I often transfer rice at that point too or else I get more sticking.
