You're supposed to exercise 6 times a week. I only managed to do a proper work out (ie: not counting a 10 minute walk to or from work, etc) 1-3 times a week, and I still clocked off 20kg by sticking pretty well to the eating plan, so don't freak out or throw the idea out the window if the 6 times is not realistic.
The SSS is the plan of doing a full on death defying workout one day a week (most people do it on Saturday) where you crush 1,000 calories.
I found that a solid gym class (Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Attack, Boxing, etc - not Pilates, Body Balance, etc) and then 30 mins on the cross trainer or treadmill nailed that.
A friend who is smaller than me needed to do two classes to get the 1,000 done and dusted, so she'd do the solid class and then do a spin class.
A HRM is good, if you're going to use it. I got one as a special thing for Christmas, and haven't really used it, because I still haven't figured out how I'm a bit of a time poor technophobe and there's just never been a good hour to sit down and read the instructions properly ... I should probably do that ...
Pre "stress weeks", I was managing 4-5 x 30 workouts a week, mostly only doing 300cal a session, but when doing that combined with mostly following the meal plans I was losing weight and size. Have not done a proper SSS, but I figure the weekends where we went woodcutting for 3 hours more than made up for that
In one way it is good to know that I can not be 100% and still lose, but then a part of me goes "hey I could lose all my weight quickly if I did follow 100%". The reality is 6 x 1hr workouts a week is just not feasible without massively affecting my sleep and stress levels, which in the long term is not good for me and would just end of with me blowing back out.
As of this morning I am back to pre "stress weeks" weight. So will be interesting to see what I am at tomorrow morning.
