Okay girls I signed up, and then had a really good look around the site. I decided I would like to do the learn to run fitness programme, but then also decided I really need to see my GP before starting that as I had a 4th degree tear with DS and although I feel as though it's all good, I should get his advice before starting anything that is high impact. Otherwise I will just do the pregnancy fitness programme, which looks very pelvic floor friendly.
I've got a bit of organizing to do (we don't even have scales in the house to weigh ourselves!) but I'm looking forward to it.

    Good work!

Definitely get your Drs opinion though, yes.

    Not long now!!

How's everyone going with the pre-season tasks?

    What are people's goals?

    My main ones are:-

    1. 15-20kg off
    2. Cut the crap
    3. Exercise 6 x a week (but can be 3 x walking, 3 x gym.

I am doing it this round. I signed up a few days ago but apart from Task 1 I have not got any further into the preseason tasks.
My goal is to get to 70kilos by Christmas. I don't know if that's too much to hope for. I am currently 78kilos so 8 kilos in almost 7weeks might be unrealistic.
My excuses are lack of motivation mainly.
Another problem I have is it seems I have a cardiac problem and exercise gives me chest pain as soon as my HR gets above 140bpm. When I am resting it drops into the 40's at its worst but usually only the low 50's. I am currently been investigated for a heart block. I don't want this to be an excuse but as soon as I get tightening in the chest it freaks me out. The Dr thinks a lot of this is anxiety and I am fine to exercise but I have not seen the cardiologist yet as I am waiting to have another test first which takes weeks to get into. So I have to worry about freaking myself out. Hopefully I will have reassurance there is nothing major wrong soon and it wont affect my exercise.

Peanutter are you done with the preseason tasks? I have to go check them out again as I have not done past the first one. It starts on Monday doesn't it?

    Yes and yes.

I've taken a much more laissez faire approach to the kitchen cull, and I haven't watched the videos (I assume they're the same as last time).

I need to do the body test, but I think I'll do that Monday evening.

I need to set my 4, 8 and 12 week tasks ... putting my thinking cap on.

    How about you?

I haven't got that far yet although my kitchen is pretty good so the cull wont be necessary.

I have not really thought about goals although I would want to be 75kilos or less by week 4. This morning I was 78.1 so not much to go in 4weeks. I'd also like my clothes to feel looser if you can call that a goal. My size 14 work clothes are so TIGHT right now. I guess I also need to think about fitness goals. I know I need to make myself exercise with the bike especially.

I think that clothes feeling looser is a fair goal. With the bike, you could have that you're using it twice a week or daily or something, or that you can ride a particular distance in a particular time, or something.

I've got goals with eating, too - things like having a stable of workable snacks which I keep prepared, and which I *use* etc.

Any tips for staying on track? I think I am going to struggle to keep going. To start with I am usually good then I fall of the wagon and I seem to get distracted easily with other stuff going on. This is going to be particularly hard leading up to Christmas with all the Christmas parties coming up.

Today I am wearing exercise clothes and find myself looking in the mirror thinking if only these love handles were not here and this was a bit smaller I could look pretty decent lol. So maybe this will help my motivation wearing stuff (when not working) that is revealing but not in a good way.

Spend 20 minutes each evening to put together your food for the next day. Bread in a reusable freezer bag (or tub), ingredients all weighed up and in tubs so all you need to to each morning is put it all together.

Look seriously at the eating plan for the week, and modify the meals as needed.

Eg: I eat brekky at work, while I do my emails and catch up on some reading. There's no way I'd be having anything cooked. But I can have my muesli weighed and tubbed up, the apple grated and tubbed up, and it's easy enough to measure half a cup of milk there. Same with the "banana bruschetta" etc.

Lunch too - I'm not going to do anything fancy, but plenty of the meals are dinners which you can just cook double, and have the other half for lunch nuked in the microwave.

You could even check out which ones are freezable, and do a bunch on the weekend if you like.

With exercise, I will be looking to you and others here for encouragement. Last time I was ace for the first few weeks, then I was crappola.

OK, I have started! I'm doing the beginner fitness program and the breastfeeding nutrition. I asked on the forums what to do about tandem feeding and was advised to add a couple of extra snacks to the 1700 cal allowance and see how I go. I did today's workout and it was good! I didn't do any of the floor exercises because I forgot to buy a gym mat and our exercise area is in our sunroom which has a hard concrete floor, so while they were doing floor stuff I just repeated some of the cardio exercises. I've ordered a gym mat on ebay so I won't be doing that for too long! I've decided to use DS2's morning nap time as my workout time, so it hopefully won't be too hot and the day won't get it in the way. I haven't done my first weigh in, I keep forgetting! But I've put a reminder in my phone to do it tomorrow morning before brekky.

    My goals:
    1. Get down to 55kg. I don't know if I'll make it but I sure am going to try - I'll know how much I need to lose tomorrow!
    2. Exercise 5 days a week - anything on Saturday or Sunday is a bonus but I'm not going to schedule anything into family time at this stage.
    3. Build up my fitness. I don't want to get puffed out as quickly as I do now.

I started today too. My big goals were to clean up my nutrition and drop the soft drink.
Im also doing the breastfeeding nutrition but adding extra for tandem feeding.
Im counting cals with mfp on my phone.
I planned on walking the kids to school but it was raining this morning!

Can I ask how tall you are? Unless you are very short 55kg is very light.

I think I did good with the food. A bit more than I should have had but made consistently good choices and drank lots of water.
    Im happy with day 1.
