Well I have sent off my measurements and i have a long way to go to where i want to be so gotta get a wriggle on.
Dh is getting me a gym membership as we have a really good treadmill at home but i find it hard to be motivated with the treadmill alone. So i start that next week. For mothers day i am getting a new gym outfit too!! Woo hoo. DH said that when i lose my target 10kg he will buy me a new outfit, not that he doesn't usually let me buy clothes but this will be a special outfit and i wont need to worry about the price as long as i feel awesome in it! I love my DH.
For those of you in the know are the shake diets a good idea?? I was thinking that you may put on alo of weight once you stop using the shakes and start eating breakfast and lunch again. Does anyone know if this would be the case??
Well I'm just back from the gym and jogged 3km in 22.5min so was pretty proud of my second jog in almost a year and since giving birth. Then did some weights and abs and stretching. I've done some exercise every day this week so I'm feeling much fitter and haven't eaten any chocolate - woohoo!
I'm getting some new runners for mothers day so that should also be a good motivator.
Isabel - I know people who have had no problems coming off shakes but you have to be vigilant with calories and portion sizes. Maybe you could try PM Lucy? She did shakes for the first while and then went to calorie counting and it has worked for her, she might be able to give you some feedback? Just an idea.
Nai that sounds great! New runners are always Fab. Mine are a $20 pair from Target and do nothing for my feet but one of my minigoals is to prove I am committed enough before spoending any large amounts of money etc.
I am snacking on half and orange, half an apple and a kiwi fruit. Oh and 150gm of Gippsland Dairy Yogurt. I really don't like apples anymore, not sure why.
I hear ya on the sore butts - mine feels all bruised where the seat was, serves me right for taking so long to get back on it. I was mortified at my level of 'non' fitness, I struggled to do half an hour.
Well I made stroganoff last night, but instead of serving it with rice or pasta, I served it on a bed of green beans I still ike it that way, DH was none too impressed - too bad for him.
Mmmm, Mexican . . all this talk about food when I am hungry, sheesh. I can't comprehend only wanting to eat out of necessity - food is delicious, if we weren't meant to enjoy it God wouldn't have made such yummy variety - we'd all just eat porridge or pellets. I don't have that problem though, my DH has always been chubbier than me (And is a BAAAD influence when I'm trying to diet!), but he can lose it a lot easier too, makes me cranky that he can do the same workout as me and burn so many more calories just because he is a man!
Aamy - that poor old woman. I hope that person who hit her gets what he/she deserves. And to lose a dog? OMG, i would be devastated if one of my two dogs were killed. Hope she recovers soon though.
Antheia / CM - how can you guys not be hungry all day? Yes, there are days when i just don't have to time to eat, but never coz i'm not hungry. Geez, i wish i could be never hungry. It would do me a lot of good.
MelanieKate - I hate the bike too, just because it gives me a sore bum. I tell the personal trainer at the gym not to include the bike in my program. My bum slips off the seat constantly. i guess that tells you how big my bum is!
Don't you regret eating the bad food later on? It's great at the time of eating it but later i regret it majorly. Now i think about how long i need to jog for on the treadmill to burn off the calories of what bad food i am contemplating on eating.
IsabelB - good luck with going to the gym. I think the gym is more motivating as you have to go somewhere to exercise. If it sits at home its more like "yeah later" and you never get to do it. My DH makes me go on the days when i don't feel like going. He is great. Re: the gym outfit - go girl, how exciting. I can't wait to by a crop top and wear that to the gym. Don't know how DH will feel about that though! Just 6 kgs, i keep reminding myself. If i've lost 15kgs, i can lose the 6kg too.
Nai - woohoo on the workout. Just think that you have to jog for about 9 minutes to burn the 99calories in a small piece of choc. All that pain for 15 seconds of pleasure. Not worth it. New runners are awesome.
CM - keep up the healthy eating!
Sas - my DH is a bad influence too. He eats all the bad stuff in front of me leaving me salivating over it.
TD normally I dont eat because Im too lazy! So when I am eating properly, like now, I am hungry all day and it drives me nuts! If I don't eat until say 2 in the afternoon thats less time for me to be hungry so I just used to avoid eating!
I have no idea why im never hungry. The only time i am is when im pregnant. The only reason i need to loose weight is cause i gained so much in my pregnancy with DD. Haven't gained anymore since then, just havnt been able to lose it.
I used to find the same thing when I was younger and very desperate to be thin (I was a fat kid, Faat teenager and have to really work HARD to get to and stay a 10-12) so I used to not eat breakfast and then have an apple and a diet coke for lunch, and half my dinner (Terrible I know, it let to a disorder, I'm over it now) But I didn't get very hungry then either. It's because your metabolism is through the floor cause not starting the engine with fuel, so when you eat brekky for instance, your metabolism speeds up which makes you feel hungrier, is actually a good sign because means your body is burning.
well at least the driver stopped, so many seem to take off down here. twice the limit!
OK, well alcohol's going to be hard for me, I usually have a glass with tea each night *sighs* Found the pate in the fridge, guessing its better to finish it than to leave temptation there, IYKWIM?
Re the gym - I don't get motivated enough to get out of the house to get to the gym! So I give it a miss more often than not. Which is why I'm thinking the WII.
So, I am having sugar-withdrawal headaches... I've worked out that's what it is, cause I've been drinking heaps of water today.
Also, have been discovering the 'joys' of trying to exercise with a 3 month old! Went for a walk with DS in the pram this morning - got about half way and DS started crying. I think he had some wind that just wouldn't come up (or down). I ended up having to walk back home with DS in one arm, pushing the pram with the other! Ah well - that can count as an upper body workout too!
Sterla, there is a book out there (cant remember the name sorry) that shows you yoga techniques to use with a baby. Maybe try looking for something like that?
The last two nights I've woken up at 4am with my stomach grumbling feeling so hungry! Not sure why because I'm eating breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacking on fruit. Had an off night last night and we had pizza for dinner, it was yum and I only ate a couple of slices (normally I could eat half the pizza!).
I was out all day yesterday, had to visit an old boss of Dh that has cancer...and we ate Maccas on the way home!
Buuuuuut, today as soon as MIL took my eldest, I literally threw my youngest in the 3 wheeler and walked to Aldis to get a few grocery items and it took, including the 10 mins I was in the store just under 2 hours. so basically I hope I have walked off my butt!
We just signed up with Famers Direct and this arvo we have our first vegie box arriving...delivered to our door. Can't wait. Not only will it save us time and money (by not buying crap we don't need), we will have super fresh AUSSIE grown F&V.
Have been keeping up with my water which i find really easy to do. Just need to cut back on the coffee but my goals this week is to move more. Next week, on top of moving more I will stop nibbling when I cut the kids dinners up, stop eating the crusts I cut off DS#2 toast, stop licking the serving spoon. Does not sound like much but over a week, it will add up...namely on my butt and thighs!
Mothers day - I have requested fresh seafood! Yummo! Hope everyone sticks to their plans / goals over Mothers Day!!!! hint hint girls.......
Okay, off to tidy up outside.
Turkish - Love your location! I really should upgrade my membership but can imagine what DH would say. Meh!!
Isabel, I love the reward system! I have wanted GHD hair straighter for about a year now... If I reach my goal I get one! YAY Re the shakes, I can see the attraction (the promise of weight loss) however a prefer a lifestyle change which can be sustained forever
Nai your jog is awesome! I remember the days when I ran 3km in 20 and gosh it felt great! I don't think I will be running again though as hopefully I will be pg soon! But it is a long term goal of mine down the track.
Cookie (another temping name hehehe) I was never an apple fan until about 6 months ago, huh? go figure!
Sas I also feel cranky that my DHcan do whatever and eat whatever and still be a lean mean fighting machine! Did you read my post re the body composition monitor I have? He is 32 in real life and his body age is 17! Fortunately he is a good influence when I want to eat well and will never eat the bad stuff if I don't want it
Kazbah the alcohol is hard for me too I loooooove red wine!, last night was my final hoorah for this 12 week challenge and hopefully I'll be UTD in the next couple of days anyway! What I find is a great substitute at parties etc is crushed ice with soda water and add some frozen mixed berries and fresh lime chunks
Laranna mmmmmmmm PIZZA! It's my absolute fav!!! DH and I have a deal that if we get Pizza I can have 3 slices and we have to have a big home made salad so I actually eat it guilt free. 3slices of eagle boys regular base vego pizza is only 450 calories so that's fine
Scone well done on that weightloss!
Kazbah the drink bottles are a great way to get the water in... That way you don't loose count
Turkish that sounds like a great workout well done honey... And LOVE eating, my taste buds love flavor! DH says that I am a slave to my taste buds, not my stomach
Ali enjoy your wii fit
Belfie Welcome
Aamy hello my beautiful ttc buddy... Thanks for telling me about this challenge
Krysalyss I love the sound of your plan, I'm sure you will see results
Laranna! You tease! I am craving pizza sooo badly!! We don't have a pizza shop in town (well we do but it is awful AND expensive) so the only time we have it is if it is brought hom from Canberra... once in the four months we have beenn here. We were pizza addicts back in VIC so I miss is so much!
Ohhhh Cherished a GHD!! I might have to put that on my list... although I have a pretty extensive one already... Thatg part alternative to wine sounds delish - bit like a virgin daiquiri or something! Mmmmmm daiquiris *sigh*
Vixstar I think you have a great plan in place, and you are totally right, the serving spoon, the crusts, the nibbling, it soo adds up You will do great! I hope you enjoy your delivery of Farmers Direct... which for some reason has reminded me that I have to call our gas company, I think we have a leak..
BBL girls! xo
Oh and Turkish is that true - hunger means metabolism is kickstarting again? That's great, at least I know it's for good reason!
