Ohh Traveller! You've got a new avvy! Spike! ohhh... *drooool*
PacRacMG: Yes, I can! I walk to the beach everyday! It takes about 30min there and 30 min back (that is my usual hour walk, along a pretty river). The water is still freezing though (I'm in SA). I'm somewhat scared of the sea though... last year while I was swimming we had to evacuate the water because there was a 4m Great White :o The next time I *bravely* went swimming, I was stung by a fish and had to go to the emergency room. Wasn't fun, I tell ya! So I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to go swimming in the sea again...
well did a short walk maybe only 1km today..
its so hard with no joggers and that, my knees get sore without proper footwear.
get my wii fit back monday :) it will be set up and i will be challenging hubby so that will be fun
i bought some plain yoghurt and toasted musili and nuts today to have for breaky think it may be better than sultana bran
just had salad with dressing for lunch, but that only totalled 60 calories so will have a snack soon
having steak and veg tonight :)
Hey hun with the muesli etc just double check as a lot of the toasted muesli with fruit in tehm actually has more sugar etc than you'd expect so you never know sultana bran might be about even.
As an example for a 60g serve (based on some stuff i have here):
Sultana Bran: 203 calories
Toasted Muesli (w/fruit) 242 calories
This is based around that KJ / 4.2 - so really the muesli on it's own is higher without adding in yoghurt etc.
Does that make sense?
Just sticking my head in here, all you girls are going great!
I just wanted to say with the muesli you want the UNtoasted because the toasted is way higher in calories.
Half a cup of untoasted muesli plus 150grams of low fat plain yoghurt plus half a banana is around 340 calories.
damn...
well it is higher than my sultana bran, but i still feel hungry after i eat that and have calories left over each day.
so my theory is it may make me fuller and keep me level with my calorie intake so ill actually burn my food effectively as right now my body feels in starvation mode. as im not reaching the 1200 calorie goal
There is no way i could EVER come under my calories, you guys are amazing who do! I am loving all of this exercise everyone is doing, its so good to see :)
Raupe- OMG! How scary, i would be very wary of swimming too if i were you! Sounds like a beautiful spot you live in though. Could you do a little walk along the edge of the water for a change? I also really like this program two hundred sit-ups, and the push ups one as well :) I probably wouldn't push it too far with your injuries and wait until you are comfortable, it looks from your ticker like you are already doing something that works!
Kawazuki- yum, your food today sounds delicious! If only i had your restraint!
ZF- Awesome walk! And well done on the food too :) How long did the walk take you?
Traveller- i hear your pain! We are off on holidays tomorrow so i have no idea how i am going to manage!
PRMG- How was the pool??
Rufalina- how was the PT session? What kinds of things did you do? I have been thinking about having a few sessions as i'm getting a little bored lately and need to push myself!
I decided to give pilates and zumba a miss last night as needed a bit of a break, headed in this morning and did a 1k walk, 7x weights (tried 2 new ones and increased the weight one the old ones by 5kgs), a 1k row and 3k elliptical trainer. As we are away on holidays next week i figured i will only be getting a cardio workout for most of the time so had better do a more anaerobic session before i go. The trainer told me that a cardio workout is good because it burns high calories during it, but a weight session is better as the calories keep on being burnt once you are finished. I also did some heavy duty cleaning today (great calorie burner, but OMG, how did my house get that dirty??)
DF has got me a zumba dvd so i am going to practice all next week and do a run each day on the beach :) I am looking forward to the change! I am going to miss weigh in on monday so might do a first morning weigh tomorrow morning instead if thats ok? Also, while i was cleaning up i found the measuring tape and redid my measures:
Bust (under)- 2cm loss
waist- 3 cm loss
hips- 4cm loss
arms- none
thighs- 2cm loss
Hooray! If only i could get my eating under control i am sure i could do so much better! I am doing homemade burgers tonight on soy and linseed with avocado, tomato and lettuce. Just had a lunch of leftover rice noodles with chicken and vegetables though and for breaky i stopped at macca's and had a hashbrown, sausage and egg mcmuffin and a nudie juice :( I seem to eat at least one thing every day that i shouldn't and can't stop myself!
Raupe - I hear you!!!! My first experience with a back beach was my dad throwing me in when I was 9 and I was tossed around (couldn't swim). First experience with snorkelling was in Thailand and I freaked at the sea snake thingys and wouldn't put my feet down, and then got bitten by a weird sucker fish and in my panic to get out of the water, scraped my toes across coral!! So while I will go into the ocean, I have to be able to a) see the bottom and b) touch the bottom. Seaweed is a no go!!! I did brave my snorkelling fear on my honeymoon in the Cook Islands because I was desperate to see the fish, but I will never be comfortable with it. We're lucky here in Melb with the bay and so many calm clear beaches along it.
Appletree - the pool was divine!!! It was me, DD and another mum and her two kids to start with and then it started to get busy. The toddler pool has all these things in it that splurt water, and DD just loved it. I'm really happy because she hadn't quite taken to water yet and here she was, walking until the water reached her chin!
I was starving when I got home so had a mango and now will wait for dinner - chicken rissoles and salad. Yum. Hope everyone has had an excellent day!
PRMG - which pool do you go to hun? Maybe we could all go one day, i'm sure i can juggle 2 kids in the pool, Z can go in this little floaty boat thing i have and we can get some exercise at the same time... :)
I am thinking of going to Kilmore pool but it's too hard with 2 kids on my own and i wouldn't get a chance to do laps even if DP came with me, Z wont take EBM and she's not a fan of other people so i don't know how she would go if i left her in a creche.
am being good today, had a banana, some rice crackers (viat weat - yummo), a naughty muesli slice but i stopped myself at half, some cereal for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch snags and veg for tea tonight and it's a tad warm i sooo feel like ice cream BUT i might cut up an orange and put it in the freezer and have it later :)
Appletree - the 5km walk the other day was about 1.5hrs BUT we stopped for about 15 - 20min at the park and a couple of times to settle the kids, have a water and to catch our breath on the giant hills.
Today was a little over an hour i think, we didn't stop as much but still stopped for drinks and to catch kids hats etc... :)
I am loving the morning walks. Fresh air and a bit of exercise (and lovely company) is doing wonders for physical and mental health. Maybe if it rains all next week we can get an exercise video or dance around silly with the kids?
Hehe i ALWAYS dance around silly with the kids, we have PINK thumping as i speak and A loves to 'dance'.... ditto on the lovely company :)
Hopefully we get some sun, i am quite enjoying the walks too, makes me feel like i have a bit more energy and less time for the kids to go all destructo on the house.
morning all
i have found my new exercise that i love
deep water running
sooo easy adn fun and wow is my tummy feeling the tightness lol
and burns alot of cal with minimal pressure through my knees :)
and found this yummy beetroot tzaztiki dip, its soo yum and low in cals.
we had that with carrot stick and cuecumber for morning tea.. yummo.
think ill have tuna sandwhich for lunch with salad :)
we are having chicken schnitzle for dinner with salad. i will bake them so no oil :)
WEIGH IN TOMORROW!
Tomorrow if you can please PM me your up to date stats (save space in here) and i will update.
Also if you ARE NOT on my list and would like to be please PM and let me know... i am going through now to add on any names i have missed!
For anyone who's goal is NOT weight based please just give me a quick rundown, i will put the NEW stats in a seperate new post aswell as update the ORIGINAL post!
Hope everyone is enjoying their w/end.
Last night i snuggled up and watched GHOST with a bowl of ice cream and for once i didn't feel gross or guilty about it, i ate well during the day, i have been walking and i WANTED to enjoy it.. it was yummy.
No chance for a last ditch walk today though as it's raining, we had 57mm since yesterday so i might pop on some pumping tunes and dance around like a nutter.
I have also been running up my stairs 2 at a time when i need to go upstairs, sometimes i don't even need to go up there i just do it..
I had far too much to eat (and drink) yesterday but am hopeful the weigh in tomorrow won't be too bad considering that I am unable to stomach food today. Naughty naughty Traveller
I'm going ok food wise. Not so much exercise wise. I'm joining the gym tomorrow so hopfully this week will be better than last week.
well being good today
had subway for luncha dn i went the good choice intead of my club sub with extra bacon and extra cheese :)
had egg and toast for breaky was sooo yummy.
and best of all my whole family is eating better
having salds for dinenr with some protein having grilled salmon tonight nommm nomm.
went for a walk down the beach today and did some laps and deep water running again today..
im feeling great.
hubby even commented that im not as moody and grumpy especially since its AF time;)
Subway is actually pretty bad for you. Their bread is full of sugar. A better option is to make your own 'sub'. You can get the kids to make their own too and make it fun.
Ok everyone it's UPDATE DAY!
I am so excited about my update today, i had to weigh myself 3 times just to make sure my scales were not lying to me!
If everyone can please PM me with an update and i will do a post tonight with all the details!
Hope everyone had a GREAT w/end i look forward to hearing how everyone is feeling.
AFM: Am going into town this morning, am thinking if it doesn't rain i might do a lap aroun the block with the girls, if not i will get plenty of exercise doing our shopping and hopefully walking from the Shopping Centre to the other shops and back.
I started off last week alright, then it kinda went downhill excercise wise from wed on.
I had a little loss though so that's something. :D Every little bit counts.
:grouphug:
Have a great week everyone!
i just looked into classes at the pool for before and after work..
man they are expensive and i dont know if i can afford them :(
gonna be busy today on a brighter note MOVING DAY.
so lots of lifting and walking and sweating as we have no power lol
will weigh and measure tonight when i get my scales and tape measure back
I jumped on the scales today and discovered (to my shock and horror) that I only lost 300g! :o :shakehead: I even went for an hour walk and jumped back on them to see if there was a difference  but NOPE!
DAMN YOU STUPID ACCURATE SCALES!! *shakes fist at scales* (ok, ok, it's not the scales fault... but still!)
First I thought well, you could always say you lost more.... but I would be lying to my BB gals and to myself... so the truth is out.
Ahh well, a loss is a loss, right? Slow and steady wins the race and all that stuff :p
Hope everyone else did better than me!
I didn't lose anything this week. I need to walk everyday. I want to try and do it twice a day, once during the day with DD, and once at night with my dogs. I have a beagle and a ****er spaniel - the spaniel walks beautifully with the pram, but my beagle is a handful and I can't manage everything, especially if another dog comes along. So I'd like to get in a walk with them too. Have to rely on DH getting home though.
Catch is that I started getting sick over the weekend and now I'm in full blown cold mode. I want to go for a walk, but I don't think its going to be good for me today.
ZF congratulations and well done hun!!!!
Kawazuki hope your moving day is uneventful.
Jewel I'm with you, started off with great intentions.
As for me, haven't really been online much so I'll just start here.
My starting weight last Sunday was 64.8kg.
My goal is under 60kg
My weigh in this week was 64.1g so 700gm loss.
Making a concerted effort is proving tough this week though. We have recently moved interstate and Mum and Dad are up visiting us, hence the limited online time and the exercise lack. DH has also been posted bush for an indefinite time so the kids and I will be on our own soon. Feeling a bit average about that.
I started losing weight earlier in the year and lost about 5kg using Calorie King walking and the Wiifit. Now I have my cross trainer back so will add that. We are in Central Oz so often it's far too hot to walk and the gym isn't an option ATM.
I'm allowed 1800cals due to BFing and lost weight with that so will stick to that until it stops working.
My weakness is sweets, in particular while I'm on my own late at night.
Remember everyone a LOSS IS A LOSS and if you've stayed the same thats GREAT it's NOT A GAIN!
For me this is not JUST about loosing weight, its about getting healthy, liking myself again, feeling good and being there for my kids.
Keep up the great work and i will update once everyone has sent their stats
Well i i've lost 700g this week. A loss is a loss i suppose.
I joined the gym this morning and will be doing my first workout tonight. I'm going to go after breakfast and after dinner every day. I love the gym. So much better than just walking around the streets.
I may not have lost much weight but i just measured myself and have lost 8cms off my waist and 4cms off my hips. Wow, i'm impressed.
So, another update. Went for an 30min fast walk before breakfast, soo peaceful and quiet! Had a salad for lunch and another salad for dinner and managed another hour walk in the afternoon. Let's hope this week is going to be a bit better!
:bluecheer: Staaaaayyyy motivated!!! :cheer:
All I can say is ZUMBA!!! Went again tonight and love it more each time. I am still as unco as ever, but who cares. Fun, good workout. Going to try and get to do some weights tomorrow, but DS2 is a little sick, so if he isnt well, then no creche for him, so will have to improvise at home.
Kim - my weakness is chocolate. And I admit, I allow myself a little each day... But just a tiny bit... If I didn't the craving would build up so much that I binge on it... sounds terrible doesn't it... I will try to get to the point where I don't eat it, but for now, small steps...
Good work Raupe!!! Keep up that walking.
xo
Wow Antheia, that's fantastic!!
That's my favourite time of the day to walk Raupe.
lol Ruf, we don't even have Zumba here yet...but I will get to have a go one day. I'm the same with the treats though. I can't be totally rigid or I feel like I need to rebel. Have to say though, I love to cook and healthy food can taste phenomenal, so I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing....just waiting for my (fussy stodgy food eating) guests to go.
Since DH is away we'll be mainly having vegetarian food and I cannot wait....my poor kidneys do not need so much meat.
I went to the gym tonight. I did 21kms on the bike and 1.6km on the treadmill. Such a high. I love it!
Well, mine went UP! Grrr not happy.
Might have to pull out my dressmaking tape and do measurements as well, that way at least I will know if *something* is going in the right direction.
Was going to try to get to the gym today but DH is sick so we shall see.
Pandora
Have you exercised a lot? Remember muscle is heavier than fat! So I second the measuring tape. Otherwise don't worry, there's always this week!
I have been naughty all weekend and again today (maccas for breakfast). However I am going to put that maccas into my calorie counter and intend to stick to my goals today. It will mean eating nothing but healthy food for the rest of the day but I think it can be done. Onwards and ....well not upwards but you get the gist.
Congrats to everyone and their wonderful start to the challenge! Are we having a weekly weigh in winner? ZF, I'm on my phone so can't see how much you lost? Sounds like a good weigh in though!
I am away on holidays at the moment so jumped on some unfamiliar scales this morning fully clothed and it said I had lost 3kgs! Hope it's right! Will have to wait for next weeks weigh in for an accurate one though :)
Ok everyone i will be doing an UPDATE but i am still waiting on some people to confirm their stats etc, please check the update and confirm i have all your details correct.. i have opened a spreadsheet to make it easier on myself to copy & paste so if you can PM me your details when you weigh in i can update a little easier without trawling the thread.

Remember: A LOSS IS A LOSS no matter how big or small.
Pandora hun keep working hard, were all here for you and we know your doing a great job.. maybe those muscles are getting more of a workout and your 'bulking up'
Keep up the great work everyone, i am REALLY enjoying hearing how everyone is going and knowing i have some support and handy tips here when i need them.
 to everyone on a job well done.. 1 week down and as many as we need to go!
Aaaand this weeks winner is... ZARAVA FLUTTERBY :cheer:
WOW! :o 3.5 kg!!! That is IMPRESSIVE!!!
Well done ZF and well done EVERYONE!!!
Aww thanks hun  i can't believe it.. walking and eating a MORE (yes thats right) has actually helped.
I would normally only eat breakfas, lunch & tea and possibly the worst snacks when i was in the car etc, now i'm eating all my normal fruit but spread out over the day... YAY
I went to the gym tonight and did 25.5kms on the bike and 2.39kms walking. Man i am sore! Might take a rest day tomorrow and just do the whole housework or something as my exercise.
Morning everyone, how are we all after CUP DAY?
I need to work off some of the food i ate yesterday, was only cheese & crackers etc but still.. got a bit of housework to do this morning BUT if the sun stays out i might head into town for a walk after DD2's morning nap, maybe pack a lunch and finish up at the park for a picnic.
