Doing well this week...... I'm a daily weigher (always have been, love watching the fluctuations in my weight) and the numbers are going dooooowwwnnnnnn!

Although, the batch of lactation cookies I made yesterday aren't going to help my cause much

That's great, MummaSue! I think if I was to weigh myself daily, I'd be pretty disappointed! I only lose 100g a day or so. But I'm very happy your weight is going down! Good job! What do you do to lose weight?

AFM, I left the dog at home when I went for my long walk (1hr), and then picked him up after and walked him for 30 min. This way at least I'm getting a bit more exercise in. Yesterday the family came over (SIL and MIL) to have dinner together. So they bought McDonalds I just said 'No thanks' and walked over to the nearest sandwich shop to buy some dinner. It's sooo frustrating. I know it's up to them what they eat and I should be strong enough to make my own decisions, but I just find it disrespectful that they are munching on chips in my house (which now smells like chips) when they KNOW that both DP and I are trying to be good. There is just no support there. I CRAVE chips and it's sooo hard to resist when your whole house smells like it! I just wish I could motivate them to join us. They both really need to lose weight. SIL is about 145kg and MIL is around 100kg and very close to having a stroke (she's got type II diabetes, high blood pressure etc. Her doctor said if she doesn't lose weight she could have a stroke within six months time). I'm just glad DP stuck up for me and said to their faces: We're not eating that sh*t. Let's get some sandwiches! Geez I love him! I think if it wasn't for him I would have caved.

I'm just eating super healthy at the moment. Don't have much time for exercise except for a couple of walks a day with DD in her pram (which at the moment is broken). I used to be a hardcore exerciser and miss it a lot

Although, breast feeding is making me sooo hungry - I'm eating all the right things but just more of it! The weight is coming off slowly.....

Slow and steady wins the race though hey?

That's awesome that your DH is so supportive. It's frustrating seeing others making choices that are bad for their own health. My FIL has just had quadruple bi-pass surgery and is just out of hospital and home already making cooked breakfasts and smoking again

Yep, you can't tell people what to do. Sorry to hear he's unwell.
I don't mind so much when we're out in a restaurant etc, but when having that food in my house it's just making it worse. Also, they didn't just buy McD's for themselves, but for all of us. They just said "we're on our way over. We'll be picking up dinner on the way". So I kinda felt rude to refuse the food they bought for us, but what can you do? I really don't want to eat that stuff! (well... I do ...but I don't... hehe). Also SIL has been engaged for 2 years now and keeps putting of the wedding because of her weight. I just really want to help her, but she doesn't want to be helped.

Hmm it's so hard when ppl do that especially when they know your trying to be good & healthy but you know what i still quite enjoy Macca's we don't have it often so every now and then i find it a 'treat' i don't want to constantly be telling myself i'm not ALLOWED to have things.. i know it's not great for me but damn it can taste good.
Your DH sounds wonderful, he stood up for you both and that takes guts... so so proud that you stuck to your guns and said NO!
Maybe next time they call and say were getting food you can say great how bout we get some sandwiches or you stop and get chicken, salad & rolls

Maybe you can get them involved, tell them you'd like to do a family challenge, set a goal, organise a 'healthy' family dinner night once a week.. get your SIL to pick out a wedding dress at a shop in a smaller size, you pick a goal outfit to wear to her wedding and work towards it.... maybe it will motivate her more?

walk today was great it's warm out there but a nice breeze... kids LOVEd rhyme time now their both asleep, i SHOULD be cleaning but ah well resting for 10min to myself

Will do the stats tonight so anyone who hasn't sent them has a little extra time

Thanks ZF Yes, he's a darl. He was overweight as well and already lost 20kgs. I'm so proud of him.

I do treat myself to some nice food now and then. Like good quality dark chocolate. Or some nice salami. But (back to one of my old posts) it has to be all in moderation and and I have to consciously enjoy it. It should be special and not an everyday thing. But his family eats this stuff all the time. So if I treat myself every time we meet up, I'll be stacking on the pounds again. Lol, I think we're seeing them too much! Haha. I really like the idea of getting chicken and salad or making sandwiches! I'll remember that for next time.

The whole thing about getting them motivated is a bit harder. I had a previous post about my MIL (my weightloss buddy that I lost) and she has just given up. SIL on the other hand has not even tried yet! I signed up for Aqua-aerobics with her. She never turned up. I try to tell her how changing only little things can have a big impact on your weight (especially when you're near 150kg ). I also tried to convince everyone that we should only have healthy meals together when we meet up. But nothing. Nothing happened. I cooked a stir fry for all of us and all I got was: I don't like capsicum. I don't like this...or that... etc So everyone just went down to the chicken shop. The problem is she doesn't like any vegetables, because she eats KFC and Maccas every day without exception. Her taste buds are only used to fried things. Everything else apparently tastes disgusting!
Furthermore, she never said that it's her weight that's holding her back from getting married. She says she can't find the right venue . But I KNOW it really is the weight that is bothering her. And everytime I mention the wedding she gets all defensive and depressed. She sufferes from depression, so I don't wanna make it worse by constantly reminding her. I did however advise her to keep up therapy. I think it's very important for her and her weightloss. But she quit.

So that's why I'm here. You gals are committed and motivated to go on this journey. I can happily share my joy with you and don't have to feel bad about "bragging". It is great we are losing weight! And we should celebrate it and not have to hide it!!

Ooops, I went a bit overboard Sorry for the babble.

Sounds good! Yeah, families can be complicated. But as harsh as it sounds seeing her like that and knowing I don't want to be like that (food-wise, attitude-wise, weight-wise and having such a food-aversion) can be a real motivator. Maybe one day they'll join... maybe...

Brag away hun! The more you do, the more you inspire and motivate the rest of us I can't believe they thought it appropriate to bring Macca's to someone's house for dinner! That is crazy...

MammaSue- i weigh myself every day too, except i seem to fluctuate up as well as down! I am all over the shop really, i can go to bed and wake up the next morning up to 2kgs lighter?

ZF- how did you go with the added exercises??

I had a 6 week check at the gym this morning and have a new workout! Very excited! I am working some new muscles with the weight machines, have some free weights and some fitball exercises to add in now, and am doing a 30 min running interval workout as well as 15 min cross trainer. I have also added an extra day of working out and now go tuesdays as well, so have 5 sessions each week.
