dh convinced me to reinstate my ticker to keep me accountable i guess he's right.
don't worry about small gains, we'll all get there eventually- remember this is a long term thing, not a short term diet.
i had a small loss of 0.5kg- that's ok, spot on what i am aiming for every week.
gotta go and do the supermarket shopping with my 2 kids. total nightmare!!! might have to grab a coffee on the way LOL
Mildez... Good luck with the Michelle Bridges Challange today!!!
Krystals... Very nice healthy food court choice there!!!!
Belfie... I hope you all feel better soon!! It really makes it hard when your not feeling 100%!!! My house hold has JUST gotten over a cold, DD and I got it the worst!! It wasnt fun!!
Ginger... I have a love hate relationship with my ticker... being a major weight yo-yo-er (i will lose weight and then gain it back and then lose more weight and gain a little back) I get really frustrated and i hate adding weight to me weight loss ticker!!! Its bad enough when the wii tells me i have gained weight!!! I am thinking of ditching it too, but then i figure - nah its good to have, I just wont update it for every tiny loss and gain!! I will wait til i have maintained a weight for a while first!!!
LadyBird... I have been a major slacker this week- i didnt even attempt the lunges!!!! Its just been me and my bike this week, I havent even turned on the wii!! But I am feeling much better and I am ready to power on this week!!!!
TAnstar... Little gains suck!!!!! Like LB said though- its doubtful that you have put on 1kg of fat!!!! Have you done your measurements lately??? When people told me to do that I was like measurements smeasurements.. but then I checked them and found out that in three weeks I had lost a massive 6cm off my gut!!!! Which I had kind of noticed.. but it was really nice to have the numbers there infront of me!! If you have been doing everything right, just keep doing it!! It will pay off!! It will pay off HEAPS more than giving up or going backwards!!!!!!! If it makes you feel any better, I had a loss that still meant I still really had a gain!! ( coz thats how I roll!!!!) I am 81.9 now!! So less than I was yesterday, but more than I was during the week and last week!! Its just crazy!!! Maybe neither of us should weigh for two weeks. Just keep doing the good things, keep keeping track of our food and doing our excercise and stay OFF THOSE SCALES FOR TWO WEEKS!! What do ya reckon??
So yeah as I said to Tan.. I had a little loss that still meant a gain for the week!! Was still nice to see i was back in the 81's (just) but frustrating all the same!!! So this week I am on excercise overdrive!! lol Well, at least something everyday!!! The bike for half an hour during the day and again at night and some wii during the day!! And I have slcked off on my situps and stuff too, so i will start doing them again and incorporate some lunges and pushups!!!
BUT first.. I get to change a stinky nappy!! WOO WOO!!!
to everyone lurking (or who hasnt found the new thread yet!! )
xoxox SB
Got a bit going on at the moment... https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...g-long-167848/
and like a few of the other girls i have been suffering with sickness in the house and myself... i got a flu (not a cold) and now that i am over that, dd2 has given me her cold so exercise has been very minimal last week, but i have kept eating well and i guess that paid off as i was down .....
wait for it
wait for it
(is the suspense killng your or annoying you yet)
1.7kg in a week !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So if you add back the 600 grams i gained the week before i am 1.1kg down in 2 weeks
I really couldnt believe the scales yesterday.... Belfie I think that you said you go in cycles and are not consistant each week, well i guess the same with me as i have a small loss (or a gain) one week and then a huge of the week after!
I am sorry for the lack of personals, i will try and get on a bit more now, but my computer is in DSS room, so i can only use it during the daytime and then i am limited y a toddler!
SB - I don't know if I can dooo it!!!!!!! I weigh in officially on a Monday but I weigh myself a few times a week - i know I shouldn't and I ignore it if it goes up and down mid week generally - maybe I could do it and just do my official weigh in again in 2 weeks?! I don't know if I have the self-control to not weigh myself!
I did my Zumba for 30 mins and then did a bit of JM and then ab work and arm work so probably around a 45 mins work out today! and I haven't sat down all day, just cleaning and tidying! Yay! Food intake has been ok and am tracking everything!
Back later - Krystals - yay for 12wbt! I have heard wonderful things about it!
SJ - WOOO! Hun that is an awesome loss I know you are under lots of stress too though xoxoxo
Ginger, sometimes it's the small things which keep us going, maybe your ticker will motivate you? I have some quotes stuck up on post its around the house and they do help. When I am feeling like eating crappy food, I see one and it reminds me what I'm doing and what I really want. I'ts not usually a mars bar....
And half a kg is a great loss, congrats!!
Starbright, I am only having pretty minimal losses. I am not doing alot of exercise, but a little most days. I was disappointed with my weight losses each week, but I measured myself and I have lost a total of 11cm in just over a week! So I am losing and must be gaining muscle from my minimal efforts in the exercise department! Maybe that's your problem too?
sammiejane, sorry to hear that you're sick at your house. It's so hard when everyone is sick. I hope everyone is on the mend asap!
krystals, good luck with the 12wbt, I'd be nervous too!!
Tan, I weigh myself often too, I do try to leave a few days in between though. And usually I know if I will have a gain or loss. What a workout you've had today!! Soemtimes when you've been on the weightloss wagon for a while, you have to go back to basics. When I do lose weight, and stop tracking and writing everything down, I try to track once a month or so just to keep on track. It's soooo easy for me to go back to bad habbits.
AFM, I am still doing really well. I'm quite proud of myself! I wanted to eat chocolate today, but when it came down to actually buying it, I got a twin pack turkish delight and shared it with DH!!! I had a rest from exercise yeaterday though, my lag muscles are killing me, lol! As is my back, but that's because it's dodgy! I just need to suck that up and get over it, it will never be great, but losing weight will eventually make it feel better than it does.
Ok gotta go the kids are killing each other...they were palying blocks so nicely a second ago!
Well today i logged into calorie counter and it said that as part of my 12 week program its time to stop tracking my food everyday to see how i go... SO i took this as a sign from the universe to stop focusing on the numbers and start just trusting my body and the new things I have learned!! One bonus is that I am very boring eater and I know what I have been having each day, and the content really isnt going to change lol, so I am not too worried!! My excercise things tell me how many calories i have burned and i figure if i just keep doing what i have been doing i will be ok..
SO TANSTAR... I am NOT hopping on the scales for two weeks!!!! YOur welcome to jump on the "ignore the numbers" wagon if you choose!!!! lol Or not- I completely understand!! Up to you!!!
SJ.. I read your other thread, I hope it all goes nice and smooth with your DSS!!! What an excellent loss!!! Thats fantastic!!!!!
3LM... Good work!! I definately think i am gaining some muscel.... (pity i cant spell it) I am doing alot of toning stuff as well as cardio stuff, so i would be hoping I am!!! Its amazing how quick play goes from happy to very unhappy!! lol
Krystals... Have fun with the challange!! I dont know how i would go with DH being my PT.. He goes a bit overboard sometimes.. lol the other week i was on the bike and he was being all encouraging going "go BAbe, you can do it" etc and it was a bit ridiculous and OTT lol But hey at he was being nice lol And then he does the same thing when i am carrying wood!! lol Kinda funny!!! But i think if i was actually really having to follow instructions from him or something it wouldnt work!! But thats me!!
Well today I wii'd (i love sayin that, im so silly!!) doing some stretches and then a good cardio workout all up about an hour and 250-odd calories. Now off to ride the bike for a bit before i make dinner!! Bye for now!!
I'm loving hearing of all the losses, motivation and sharing of ideas ladies!!! You all rock !
As you all know I can't be on fb now, so I created 'the original fat chic slim blog' on blogger, but i don't think many people have the time to actually go over to yet another website to read it .
I'm torn because I want to help /
Motivate others to lose weight, but monitoring a blog site, constantly thinking of ways to challenge and motivate - not even to have one comment in reply is a bit of a kick up the butt , plus it takes up my small amount of spare time I have.
So does anyone else have any ideas how I can do this?
LB - It is harder and more time consuming to post on blogger unfortunately - especially if you don't have an account, as opposed to being able to comment really quickly on FB. Will have a bit of a think for you!
Determined today (SB I weighed in this morning Was curious to see what it popped up with and even DH thinks both our scales and Wii and way too inaccurate so I might have to get some better scales! ANyway clearly isn't working well because yesterday it was 64.2 and and today my weight was 63.6 so there is no way I had a 600 gram loss overnight. Frustrated but feeling a bit better!
I should probably be measuring instead of weighing I guess - my tape measure is at school so will have to bring it home after work this week.
Hi girls - new thread again! I haven't posted for a while, been busy censusing and what not. Have managed to stay on the wagon even though there's been a bit of indulging in the recent weeks, all the walking seems to have balanced that out!
Don't give up everyone, we can do it! Well done to you all who have reached your goals - and are reaching your goals. Don't forget, when the scales go up a bit sometimes, that can be hormonal too - we retain more fluid at certain parts of our cycle. The tape measure is a better judge of how you are going.
My updated figures - weighed and measured today 10 weeks (and 2 days for the weighing) since I measured the first time. I've lost 7.6kg and 12cm off tummy, 5cm off bust (of course!), 10.5cm off hip and 12cm off thighs. I am really happy and want to encourage everyone, you can do it too!!!
I've about 3.5kg to go I think - 73kg is my aim at the moment.
Ausgirl - great status hun! That is AWESOME!! I think you are right about the tape!!
I have about the same to lose, I have just updated my ticker and I think if I can hit the elusive 60 kgs I will be happy. I have hovered around here I am at for a long time so need to break this barrier!!
Tan.... Dont fret!! I nearly hopped on this morning too!! But I resisted!! Just do what works for you! I am suss on my scales a bit too, thats half the reason I am happy to forget them for a while! You have come a long way darl!! These last few k's will disapear soon!!!
LadyBird.. I have just worked out how to sign up to comment on your new blog!! I will check it everyday I do think fbook was easier for convienience, but hey Its not hard to put it in the favourites and check in with you everyday!!!! :-)
ausgirl... WOW You have done so well in 10 weeks!!! Keep up the good work!!!! :-)
I had a big day yesterday- ended up doing two lots of half an hour on the bike, wii fit, wii dance and I carried some wood!! I am hoping to get the same amount in today!!
Tanstar - I regularly had a 600 gram loss overnight, (maybe once or twice a week) - so don't discount it chic . And thanks for putting on your thinking cap for me
So a it of a surprise this morning to find AF has arrived a week 'early'. At least that explains the enormous gain this week!
Last night's bootcamp with hubby was actually pretty good! We did tractor tyre flipping, dead lifted besa blocks and did push ups and sprints. Just 1/2 an hour, but I churned through 300+ cals, so I'm pretty stoked. I know it'll get better too. Unfortunately DS wouldn't sleep last night, so into my bed he came, kicking and smacking me all night LOL. So my planned 6am walk was just not going to happen! Will take it at lunch time instead (after my nap LOL).
One of the things I'm doing this morning is removing my 'likes' of any food pages on FB. I find it too tempting to constantly see recipes for cakes and desserts etc on my newsfeed, so I'm just taking them off. I have 10,623 recipe books so I know if I want to make a dessert I'll be able to manage LOL.
Oh, and don't stress about the scales too much ladies, like ausgirl said, the tape is a good way to measure too. I regularly have MONTHS where I don't weigh. I feel alot better as if I know I have taken care of myself during that time, there'll be a significant loss. Much better for my mindset than checking every couple of days and seeing the mini-rollercoaster numbers
Bootcamp sounds fun Krystals!!!! and AF makes sense! I wish mine had arrived so I could blame that!
Ok it's official - I just eat too much. I have been reavenous today guys - here is a list of what i have eaten - tell me what I could replace and with what to fill me up more pretty please. Am so cross and only have 400 cals left for the day.
Toast for brekky - again carbs but I ran out of time to make an omelette and Im not a cereal eater
Sushi x3 ok so these are bad but I thought they were ok. Clearly not.
2 coffees
6 small sticks of liquorice over the course of the day
A bodywise muesli bar
orange
1/4 apple
and I just did my 30 day shred so I am starving but just had my body wise bar which I am hoping that it will tide me over for a bit.
Need some help chicks - feeling pretty ****e with myself.
On my phone again so I can't look back to do personals, sorry.
I'm plodding along. I'm doing pretty well with my food for the most part, but have lost motivation with exercise. I'm keen to get out with the pram, but the weather has been crappy. I should be getting on the bike of an evening, but I simply can't be bothered. I'm starting to suspect I may need to try and get more protein or iron in to help with energy levels.
I had a small blowout with food Sunday night. Had two iced buns, an entire packet of rice crackers and then some thermo-made orange sorbet. Wasn't great, but could have been worse. Not beating myself up about it, and am pretty well back on track with food this week.
Sterla - I know what you mean hun - especially when its cold and horrible but I don't ask myself if I am going to do it - I just say - Ok I WILL do exercise when kids go to bed/nap etc. I don't make it an option in my mind ITMS?! LIke I don't say - oh maybe I should do my dvd, - it's more after dinner I will do my 30 day shred. Good to get over the mental barrier and I know it's a cliche but if the more you do the more you will want to do and feel like doing!
