So, I have now lost 12kg since I started trying to lose weight 2.5 months ago. I have lost what my 11 month old DD weighs - really weird to think that when I'm picking her up! I am just about to drop below 90kg for the first time since before I had kids! I'm still doing lots of walking (did an 8km walk with my mum this morning) and trying to cycle most nights.
I'm not really down a dress size yet - but I'm close. I was only just squeezing into size 18, now most size 18s are quite big on me. My tummy and boobs are the problem!
Very tired so must go. Keep up the great work everyone .
You girls are amazing!!!! So inspirational it's making me very determined not to fall so far off the wagon this time around and to keep on moving even when I really don't feel like it!
AFM - no movement this week. Was on track to lose 0.4, but gained that back over the weekend. Considering we had a weekend away, was sitting in the car for almost 8 hours in total, had dinner out, too much bread etc, I think that is pretty good. Other social weekends have meant I gained overall for the whole week. Puts pressure on me though to meet my 1MKC goal, I still need to lose 2.2kg, but in a week and a week with Easter x 2
Astrid you have come so far - not far to go hun and try and enjoy Easter a little bit!
I just got back from an hour walk with a park stop half way pushing the kids! SO hot and sweaty but feels so good to get back to it. I am doing the 8 km MDC with girls from mothers group so have to get some serious training going on!! Have had a smoothie, some apple and a few sakatas so far today and am about to make some kind of salad with whatever I have here!! My biggest thing is not turning to carbs for meals - I love bread
Just got back from an almost 5km walk! Hot and sweaty but I WILL exercise every day!! Had an ok day yesterday - succumbed to 2 chocolate eggs and a salada in the arvo- damn that Easter stash but much better than I was eating in the last few months. Weet box for brekky today and will make an omelette for lunch!
So no loss for me this week but realistically with Easter, roast pork and crackling plus chocolate there wasn't going to be a huge one anyway! I have been out for a walk 5 times since last Tuesday! VERY happy with myself about that and if I can keep that up even in the cold wet weather I will give myself a medal
AM determined to not eat anymore chocolate and will treat myself on Sunday a wee bit if I keep up the exercise and no chocolate. Still really struggling with my mid-arvo snacks. I need to make a smoothie or something else filling because I tend to turn to Saladas and cheese if I am really hungry.
Hey ladies, I'm joining in Decided it's time to kick myself in my rather large butt and start doing something about my weight. I'm 26 years old, 160cms tall and 150kgs. That makes me morbidly obese. I do not wish this to be so.
So, hauling out the Wii Fit, and climbing on the bike and treadmill more frequently. Also looking into going to Curves a couple times a week, but I've gotta find out how much it costs first. I like the idea of a circuit workout with other people. I'm also thinking of dragging Mum along to water aerobics at the local rec centre, it'd be good for both of us.
Welcome Keike!!!!! Having a variety of exercise is a really good idea - I get bored of doing the same thing all the time. Loved my Jillan Michaels DVDs for months but they bore me now so am looking for other stuff to do plus getting outside helps my mental health as well! Curves is pretty excy I think, for me it's the equivalent of a gym membership - I have a local YMCA gym that is the same price and I can use the pool as well as all facilities so it's worth checking out different places and prices!!
Good luck with it hun - you can do it!!
ETA: Other things us chicks on here have found helpful is tracking our food on My Fitness Pal or Calorie King, I prefer MFP and have the app on my phone- tracking means I think about what I am eating and even if I go over my cals for the day at least I am thinking about it before I eat it ITMS.

I'm quiet because I have been doing miserably bad with everything. Eating crap, not exercising. In a really terrible funk. My kids have all been sick on and off for about 2-3weeks. Today son #1 is vomiting. Yesterday, the day before and the day before son #2 had been vomiting through the night, hourly. Before that DD had high temps and headaches. before that DS1 had an ear infection and DS2 had a throat infection, before that they all had a cold and snot from here to eternity! DH is also sick with a cold and I haven't felt 100% for a few weeks either, first with a tooth aches, and now there's just *something* that's not quite right. Probably just exhaustion, but my throat hurts on and off, as does my left ear. Sporadic headaches and backaches....bleugh! What a sucky few weeks. Now DS2 has horrible nappies......what else?!
I am going for a walk now though. Pretty much so I don't have to catch vomit for an hour or so. And pumpkin soup for lunch. At least it's healthy!
Welcome Keike!
I've had some big numbers to lose (started at 163kgs) and I'm now down 35kgs in just over 7 months. It's not been EASY, but it's not been as hard as I'd have imagined. I'm struggling at the moment to lose much, but hoping I cna get my head in the right space again.
What dietry 'methods' are you planning on using? I've found a calorie controlled diet has done wonders (although I've been naughty and not really followed it too closely of late).
All the best!!! It might seem impossible now, but it's certainly not. Can't wait to hear how you go.
AFM - Easter sucked. Too much chocolate and all the bad stuff, so since yesterday I've been back into it in a big way. I'm hoping to see a nice loss next Wednesday. I've spoken to hubby and we're both going to make the effort to cook good, ehalthy meals and keep all the junk out of the house. Fingers crossed I can drop at least another 15kgs by my Birthday in July to take me to the 50kgs lost mark. Still more to go after that though. :S
I've just been plodding along with my exercise... ate way too much chocolate over Easter, but still feel on track. I am down to 88kg now after starting at 102kg back in January. I went shopping yesterday and am fitting (just) into size 16s now . I haven't been this weight /size since before I had kids, and you know what - I feel really good too. I'm actually running around with the kids, and I have the energy to go-go-go all day (then I crash pretty hard at night, lol). I'd be happy if I lost 20kg more, even better if I lost 25kg more.
Sorry quiet here as well. Not a huge amount to report. Have not been the most organised and have had a fair bit of social stuff going on. Dreading my next weigh in, which is now overdue.
Taking the stance that I will not be guilty abut what I eat. I want to have a good relationship with food and if that means being "naughty" bu enjoying a nice meal with friends then so be it. I don't tend to go overboard these days, my portions are much smaller, so I really don't think there is anything to beat myself up over. Just means my weight loss will take a bit longer and in the scheme of things, I am ok with that.
Tanstar - Yeah, loving MFP! I was using it for calorie control, but I never went over my calorie goal, even after I manually made it smaller. Now I just use it as a food diary, to prove to doctors I don't actually eat crap all day
3littlemonkeys - Oh your poor thing Hope the sickness passes over your house soon!
Niadalla - You have done AWESOME, you're totally my role model Calorie controlled diet isn't really going to work for me, as eating normally, I don't actually go over 1800. I'm going to be doing low GI for the PCOS, and trying to slowly incorporate GAPS into it. I've got myself in the headspace that I'm doing this for health, not weight loss. That's been my problem all along, I bust my butt trying to lose weight, but it happens too slowly. I don't take into account the extra energy, diminished pain and general good feelings I have
Sterla - Well done, go you good thing! I love fitting into a smaller dress size
Bah food is terrible today - ate saladas and salami with cheese earlier then had bacon and eggs. Seriously sabotage myself by eating whatever is handy. Just did a new dvd though and I LOVE it - for all the Jillian Michaels fans out there, Extreme Shed and Shred is awesome - she mixes it right up and you work HARD. I loved 30 day shred and ripped in 30 but this is a whole new level of sweat into your eyes workout! I looked up some forums and they reckon they burn around 350-400 cals per level and I just did level 1 and about to go for a big walk so am definitely going to burn off my cr@ppy eating for the day. Steak and veggies for dinner so shouldn't be too bad tonight if I can keep away from the chocolate eggs.
Keike - That must be frustrating with the calories hun, I get slack tracking and generally know when I have gone over my 1280 for the day which dones't take much (um bacon anyone ) but exercising for me is the kicker, I have to exercise regularly if I want to lose anything plus it makes me feel so much better.
Ok off for my walk - sunny here in Melbs this arvo which is a nice change! Hope you are all having a great hump day!
Will be back into gear in a weeks time, just in a holding pattern at the moment. DH has been home, school holidays, Easter, lots of social stuff. Pretty much maintaining, but have to be so careful I don't gain. I need this coming week to get settle into the standard routine again, also the Weigh It up plans are coming out later in the week, so we will be following them.
Ooh, exciting stuff. A good friend of mine is back in town and is now a fully qualified yoga instructor. She is starting her lessons this week Will take some coordinating with DH, as he finishes at 5pm and they start at 5:30. So I will have to do as much as I can at home in about 45 minutes and then drive back to town to hand the kids over to DH when he finishes, just so he can drive them back home. Time likes this I wish we had more neighbours. Mmm. maybe we should see if there are any swimming lessons on then for DD2 that DH can take her to
Astrid - Sorry, I had the window up for ages before finally posting, and missed your post! I like your attitude to food, it sounds very mindful. Some days you just need to eat crap, no point stabbing yourself about it, coz it'll only make it harder the next day.
Treadmill and bike are finally set up, first day on them today. Also have the Wii Fit and Personal Trainer. I'll use the Fit for yoga, to try and strengthen my core, and the Personal Trainer a bit later, I've found I can't finish the workouts on it just yet. Dreadfully unfit. But the treadmill, I can do for ages. Trying to find a way to do C25K on treadmill, but I'm a bit wary of running on our treadmill - it has a weight limit of 120kg, the highest we could find, and I'm just under 150kg. Don't want to break it. I can't bring myself to go outside to walk/run because of my anxiety. Maybe I should try doing C25K once a week, and slowly get used to being outside. Hmmmmm....
Oh ladies, Easter was NOT good to me at all.
We were away for a week, basically eating camp food, chocolate and snacks and boy oh boy the amount of soft drink we had (that's the major killer for me) and now i am sad to say i am back up to 97kg
Now we are home we are back into the healthier eating, no soft drink and hopefully starting to walk again next week, really need to dust off the exercise bike aswell.
Am looking at seeing what the creche fee's are like on a wednesday after the girls do swimming so i can maybe fit in a couple of laps at the pool.
Will come and check out personals later, am off to exercise outside with some mowing.
