I haven't been in here for a little while, hoping to get in more. I have officially lost 5kg and it has only taken me 5 weeks! 5kg was my first goal so I'm super excited to reach it and even more motivated to keep going. I'm rewarding myself for reaching my first goal with a new hand bag

Nai - Fingers crossed for a loss this week, I have a feeling that you will be seeing the results of that huge bike ride soon

Ktgirl - Sounds like you're back into doing all the right things. I have the allure of a sexy new dress too. I bought a new dress for my sister's engagement party in 6 weeks time and it is only tight across the bust but unfortunately the zip won't do up all the way. I have a back up dress just in case but I would love to be in this dress looking hot for the party.

JBM - We all have moments of weakness, the important thing is that you're not dwelling on it and your positive thinking will have you back on track in no time. That mantra sounds like a great thing to put on the fridge or pantry.

Krysalyss - Hope that your paper went well and that your move goes smoothly.

Tellytubby - I haven't had any parties or events where I might be tempted to overeat or eat the wrong things yet. At least you are aware of what you ate and can correct it for next time.

Kaz - Sorry to hear about your dog. It's great that you still managed a loss because emotional eating plus stress hormones in your body can have a huge effect on your weight and metabolism. I hope you have a great holiday.

Leesa - Awesome work, you are such an inspiration!

Zarava - Welcome and congratulations on your loss so far. I am having to really watch what i eat as well as going for a 30min brisk walk everyday to lose weight. Reducing portion sizes and not going back for seconds, having smaller more regular meals to get my metabolism going and it seems to be working thus far

funkeeefrog - congrats on your 5kg... it's great setting the small goals and doing it that way.

AFM - went to weigh myself at the supermarket again today and the machine was broken and still haven't gotten batteries .
I am finishing up my food diary today, have done 5 days and already know how bad it is, have decided i am going to concentrate on: * cutting out soft drink * less bread * smaller meals more often
Getting my bloods next week @ the dr's and am planning to eat healthier, i'm not dieting i'm making a lifestyle change!

Hope everyone is getting towards their goal.

funkeefrog: woohoo on 5 kg, thats fantastic. whats the secret. i need to know. thats such a good job.

zarava: good decisions you've made, sometimes it's all the little things we have that i am sure that add up to one big thing and in my case it is one big but. LOL
    keep up the good work.

afm: well i have been offficially going to the gym only 1 x month for a weigh in and a measure, so i go tomorrow, got fingers crosssed. have been doing ok. could be better but have come a long way. i have been pretty good today. have been filling out my food diary. am going for a swim on friday to work off some fat. should be fun.

    good luck to everyone else.

    hey ladies,
i wasn't getting notifications so i didn't think anyone was posting. sorry!

funkeefrog, i think i did well even tho i did overeat - i have 4 pnts saved, so really only went over 6. The next day i mowed the lawn which took 1.5 hrs, and i saved a further 4 points to get back on track! Well done on the 5 kgs!! i bet you're feeling it in your clothes now, well done! And good luck for when you do go out, it can be so hard with so many tempting foods around

JBM i hope your weigh in/measure in goes well tomorrow! good luck and keep us posted!

zarava - lol on not having batteries yet! that sucks that the one at the supermarket was broken too. I should probably throw my scales out, i try so hard to stay away but curiousity gets me every time and i always end up weighing myself a couple of times during the week! So if you're anything like me, maybe its good that you havne't gotten the batteries yet? either way works! Your diet sounds great.. a lifestyle change! I hate the word diet.. I actually read a book once about losing weight, and it recommended a 'lifestyle' as opposed to a 'diet', because when you're on a 'diet' you instantly want all these fattening foods, and the only reason you want them - is because you can't have them! Whereas when you change your 'lifestyle' those foods arent as tempting, simply because you can have them if you want.. they aren't necessarily off limits. Did that make sense? wow i'm really blabbing on here!

AFM I had my weekly weigh in this afternoon, and i lost 1.7 for the week! Which means i've officially lost 7 kg I'm so stoked.. i'm officially lighter than what i was when i fell pregnant with DD 3 years ago! I'm noticing it in my clothes, all of a sudden THEY FIT! lol. Shorts now don't have a muffin top, and i don't have to sqeeeeeze into them! Feeling great.. Its hard to believe 3 months ago i was 104kg, now i'm 87.8! (i lost a bit in the first couple of weeks of bfing... gosh i LOVE bfing, hahaha).

    i hope you're all well
    xx

Tellytubby - Well done on a fantastic loss!!! Wow on losing 7kg already. Keep up the wonderful work!!

JBM - Good luck for your weigh and measure today. Let us know how you go.

Zarava - I think you have hit the nail on the head there, it is definately a lifestyle change we all need not a diet! Bugger about the scales being broken at the shops

Funkeefrog - Well done on getting to your first goal of 5kg lost If you keep going at that rate you will definately be able to fit into that gorgeous new dress for your sisters engagement party!!

Nai - Hope being back at work is going ok. At least you stayed the same with your weight this week, boo for AF and hopefully you get a nice surprise when you weigh in next week!!

AFM- Been having a good week. My weigh in day is tomorrow so I will let you all know how I did. Hoping for a loss I am laking in motivation to exercise today , but I have exercised Mon, Tue and Wed and I was planning on cleaning the house today so will see how I go, might have to make the cleaning a bit more energetic this week to burn a few calories.

I weighed in yesterday and lost 1.2kg this week so I was really pleased with that Now I just have to be good over the weekend, which is where I always seem to be a bit naughty. Fingers crossed I can keep that weight off over the weekend and continue the loss during the next week

How is everyone else going? It has been a bit quiet in here over the last couple of days.

Zarava - Bummer about the scales. Make a commitment to get batteries so that you can track your loss or even better get out the measuring tape I have also reduced my bread intake. I decided that I would have cereal instead of toast for breakfast because I don't drink much milk and if I have a sandwich I only have one slice of bread and surprisingly I don't miss it.

Tellytubby - You are doing a fantastic job! Feels good to be under 90kg doesn't it?

Ktgirl - Great loss! I always find that I am motivated every time I step on the scales whether it's a loss (to keep losing and get closer to my goal weight) or a gain (to work harder for next week)

JBM - I had a week where I put on, it was only a few hundred grams, but I looked at what I had been doing wrong and made sure that I worked hard to eliminate those things for the next week.

Katones - 1kg in a week is awesome! Keep it up

    Hello to everyone else

I agree with the lifestyle change mindset. It's the only way to keep the weight off. I am making a conscious effort to reduce fat and sugar. I cook alot of meals from the Symply too good to be true books. I like how it has the portion sizes and lists the nutritional details. I also have another little book by Kate di Prima which has recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks and she recommends for a weight loss of about 1kg per week to have one from each section each day, with snacks for morning and afternoon tea. It equates to about 6000kj with a drink from the book as well and seems to be working for me. If I feel like something sweet I have frosty fruits in the freezer as a treat instead of icecream.

    on the move.....

Hi guys! I am finally back. We have moved and I jumped on the scales this morning. I have been feeling pretty podgy and the scales showed that too. Eeek! So back into it all today. Having been counting my calories and went for a jog. I think most of the family are out tomorrow night so was planning on doing an aerobics video, and then soccer training starts on Wednesday. So here's hoping I can kick off a nice week of weight loss and muscle gain - I obviously lost some of that too! My jog almost killed me today but I am determined to get into a better routine.
Sorry I don't have time for personals, but everyone is obviously going well. It is good to be back

I did a 2 day detox this weekend, AF arrived and I'm on OptiFast pretty much full-time for the next few weeks, then will just do morning and night (I rarely eat dinner so having a shake "makes" me have something). Took my measurements this morning. Going to go for a walk tomorrow morning.

I've got a certain man in my life threatening to take me for a run (ummm hello I have bewbies - they bounce too much to run!!!!!) - so I'm going to sneakily work up to being able to run, then I'll actually say yes to the run one morning.

Hi guys! I am finally back. )
    Me too

Now that I have settled back into work, had the girls birthday party and getting back into normality I am back on board! Woohoo!

I jumped on the scales yesterday and fortunately weighed in exactly the same 64.2! My goal is to be below 64 next weigh in. I really want to get to 60 so I need to get working on it.

to everyone on the weightlosses! It is good to see everyone going so well.

Hey everyone keep up the great work!

Had my 6wk check-up yesterday and am down to 96 exactly.. so only 300g loss over a couple of weeks but it's something considering i hadn't changed my diet.

at the moment we are eating out the cupboard (using all the crap in there) but i am also trying to eat healthy, having weetbix or just right for breakfast without sugar, snacking on fruit... just gotta get dinner sorted and those horrible cravings when i go to the shops and buy a chocolate etc.

Oh well it all takes time i guess and i can still enjoy the finer things in life every now and then!
