i have started to excersise again even though i cant always get out and go for a walk i still make the most of it around the house. still craving the not good stuff but not giving in so much
TT - I think you did well considering the lack of power. When we were driving past the KFC on Nebo Rd we couldn't believe how many people were there and Macca's was the same.
ZF - Some doctor's can be really blunt, stick to your normal doctor and at least you might get an acknowledment of the great work that you have done so far, even though you aren't at your goal weight yet.
Eluned - Welcome! 4kg in 6 weeks is definitely an achievable goal. Cut out the chocolate, just don't buy it and don't have it in the house. Even if you can't cut it out completely buy smaller portion sizes instead of big blocks. My favourite snacks are savoury muffins, nuts (only a small amount though because a portion of nuts is like 1/4 or 1/3 of a cup, not a huge handful), mini banana muffins if I feel like something sweet. And exercise, exercise, exercise!!! You can do it!
Mr S - Welcome back! You are setting out to lose your weight for all the right reasons. Maybe you need to actually physically write them down on paper and stick them on the fridge/cupboard as a constant reminder. And i give you the same advice that I gave Eluned, exercise!
Leesa - I was telling my mum about this support thread and the people in it and showed her your photos on FB. She thinks you're a champ and that you look great! She has lost 17kg in the past year and has 5kg to go. I think it's great that we're all getting into shape now while we're still younger and the weight is easier to lose. From watching my mum, it's a lot harder to lose weight when you are older and your hormones are doing lots of crazy things.
AFM I am finding that I don't need as much food as I used to eat, plus it's easier to make healthy choices whilst allowing myself the occasional indulgence. I have reduced my intake of juice/cordial - no cordial anymore and watered down juice to reduce my sugar intake. Am walking twice a day now, once to the shops in the morning and again at night with the dogs

hey guys!
I'm joining this little thread in the hopes that I can lose a few kg's!
Currently I weight 78kgs (2kg's to go and I'll be back to pre-preg weight) I'm about 165ish cm's tall and I'd like to lose 10kg's, once I get there I'll reassess, see if I'm happy or not and take it from there, I once weighed 58kg's in my high school days, but now that seems slightly extreme! I'd like to do it while I have BF as a little cheat tool XD
The last week I've starting going for an hour walk during the mornings but the thing I'm finding the hardest is watching what I eat... BF makes me feel famished 24/7 and I need to start replacing the quick stacky stuff for something more healthy, perhaps even having more smaller meals during the day rather than three biggish ones with crap inbetween... The info I have is all there, i just need a bit more motivation to put it into practice!
So here's to you guys being my inspiration! *chink*
Hello teagz and welcome!
I'm also bfing, and know exactly what you mean about getting sooo darn hungry! I'm on ww, and bfing mums get an extra 7 points. Which is 7 pieces of bread, if that puts it into perspective for you?
good luck!
7 peices of bread? holy crap! that's alot...
Yeah mum mentioned something about ww doing a BF friendly "course" How are you finding it?
Finding it really good! Very easy, and the recipes are great for the whole family! Haven't had any problems at all with my supply, which was my biggest worry. And i've lost 14kg in 10 weeks
Yep! 7 points is ALOT! Most days Im well under in my points![]()
tellytubby, yeah I usually have a tea or milo in the evenings. It's sooo hard not to eat something though. The breastfeeding makes me really famished as well. Up until last week I was just having a sandwhich (honey or jam) in between meals and in the evenings after dinner. I was eating half a loaf of bread a daymg: but kind of cut back on that now.
funkeefrog - it all sounds so simpleif I buy chocolate, I'm embarrassed to say that I will eat it that day all in one sitting. Yes, an entire block of dairy milk
So it rarely lasts the week. But then if I have to duck out to the shops during the week, I'll grab myself a chocolate bar. Although, I must say I have been good this past week and have avoided the temptation! I knew we would have chocolate cake for my birthday dinner yesterday so I saved myself for that.
Aside from the chocolate, I think I'm pretty good with my meals. Porridge and fruit for breakfast. Salad sandwiches or toasted baked bean sandwiches for lunch. Dinners vary, I try to make healthy but I have cut down my portion sizes, was eating the same as DH. I never let him serve up my dinner because he fills my entire plate!
So I need to ramp up my exercise. I'm only managed a couple of 45 minute walks a week at the moment due to a dodgy pelvis but that is improving and soon I will be able to get back into Pilates as well and more intense/regular walks.
Eluned, DH fills my entire plate too if he dishes my tea up! When I comment on it he say's "well you are sustaining two" argh! There is actually so much on it that I can never finish it... so, it's alot because I'm such a pig these days XD The amount of weight I could have lost if I had actually *tried* by now is a little mind boggling... I've eaten like a pig the last 10 weeks and I'm only 2 kg's away from my pre-preg weight. Go the breastfeeding!
But, it's time to pull my finger out, because once the breast feeding is gone I'm going to be set in a nasty nasty habit and turn into something I don't really wanna be.
Hi everyone. Sorry I have not been in much. Have had a couple of crappy weeks but back on track now. Put on a little but have weighed myself this morning and I am back to where I was before the crappy couple of weeks so am pleased about that. Official weigh in day will be Friday again.
I will try and catch up on what I have missed and do some personals later. The twinnies are just starting to wake up so I better go and get them out of bed.
when is everyones weigh in days?
I'm doing my official weigh ins on Fridays, although I do tend to jump on the scales almost everyday![]()
i need to buy some scales!
just letting you know that i am still alive. i havn't moved on the scales but have ramped it up with my good eating the last few days.
dh and i went to melb last week for 2 days and i was too scared to weigh myself after maccas and pizza, it was not good. but a good little break for us with no kids.
i have decided that i am going to get back into my bike riding, once a week, early morning. i am going to go for a 30 min ride.
sorry no personals, am at work ATM. chat soon
Weigh in day for me and this week I have actually lost 1.8kg!! But because I put on a little bit over the last couple of weeks that weight loss puts me about .5 lower than I was before I gained a bit so I am pleased with that.
JBM- Hope you enjoyed your trip to Melbourne. Good work with planning the bike rides!!
Eluned - How did you go with weigh in today? It sounds like you are eating really healthy meals
Teagz -How are you going this week. I think having more meals and making them smaller works well. I always find when I eat 5 times a day I lose more weight than when I only eat 3 times a day. I just try and have something healthy for the snacks like a low fat yoghurt or fruit.
Mr Squidipa - Well done on not giving into your cravings so much!!
Hi to everyone else. I hope you are all having a good day. How is everyone going staying away from the easter eggs? So far I have resisted, lets hope I resist for a little longer![]()
hey lovely's!
Well this week I lost 1kg. Not bad considering I went for a walk once... mind you I've been running around like a moron most of the week. I was naughty last night tho and had a lamington as a late night snack.I don't think that would have done too much damage tho... i hope.
Not too worried about easter eggs, i'm not a big choccie eater - I'm a hoarder, then other people end up eating them for me XD My problem is going to be while we're away down south for easter, and the amazing fish and chip shop that's close by - best fish and chips in whole of WA, I swear to you
ktgirl! congrats on the 1.8! Woop! That's quite a good effort in a week!
hey does anyone watch the biggest loser? I'm addicted (when I can get to it that is!) those guys are so inspirational... and so strong with just putting themselves out there like they do.
anyway i must be off and packing!
Happy easter! xx
ktgirl & teagz - woohoo on the weight loss!! Awesome work girls
I've only lost 100 grams this weekDismal! But I guess any loss is better than a gain. I caved last night and ate chocolate (nearly a whole block)
I'm so terrible when it comes to chocolate. I can't resist it. If it's not in the house then I can't eat it, but how do I resist buying it at the shops? Easter is going to kill me! I told DH not to get me any eggs at all.
ETA: yep I like watching TBL as well especially the masterclass episodes. They have all lost so much weight, it's inspiring!
well done on the 1.8kg loss my weigh in day is tomorrow
