EEEkkk.. it was the squats that hurt my legs!!!!!!!! My goodness i felt them this morning!!!! I had to throw in a minute of punches to alternate coz i just couldnt do it!!!! And some sit ups (30!!!), some push ups (8!!!!) and some yoga stretching... and i managed to get 15 minutes on the bike- all before breakie!! So thats my 30 minutes for the morning!!! I think i will go a bit easy today though- i am a bit sore, so lots of walking around the house and maybe a gentle ride while DD naps today. Then more bike tonight once they are in bed!!! I love routine!!!!!

Tanstar.. I got the Woolies brand "Great Start" bran/nut/fruit one... it is really yummy!!!! And if i am eating the right serving its 158 calories. Compared to my white bread toast with peanut butter of 300 calories.. its more filling and tastes heaps better!!!!! It was on special this week at woolies, and there are three different "flavours" to choose from, i figured i needed some more nuts and grains and fruit, so thats the one i picked! I have started thinming about what i am going to eat the day before, and actually putting it into the CK to see what my day looks like and what i need to adjust. Also i find thats better than being on the computer all day checking!! I write down in my book what i actually eat, and then if i need to I adjust the CK at the end of the day. Its working so far!
I hope your DD is feeling better soon!!! DD woke me up at 6:30 with a big poo, but no spew thank goodness!! But she didnt want to go back to sleep, luckily DS stayed sleeping til 8-ish or they would both be cranky!!!!!!

    Sterla!!!!

Mildez I am using My Fitness Pal now, am finding it easier to navigate and it's faster to input food that CK = will see how I go. I am not too hung up on it because I KNOW what is good for me and what isn't and if I stick to 3 healthy meals a day with 2 healthy snacks plus upping my water I will be doing 1000% better than I have been. Plus the exercise!!

I just made a yummo egg omelette with tomato, one slice of lean ham, tiny bit of onion and no cheese. Delish. Will check out the cereal SB thanks hun - knowing that toast with peanut butter is 300 will help as a comparison because that is often what I would eat.

School is back for me tomorrow and Thursday - Wednesdays are called Wicked Wednesday and they really are. People bring in all sorts of amazing morning tea so I will be really testing my self-control. I have stuff for lunch - so many days I would eat whatever was left over from morning tea because I wouldn't take lunch in - so unhealthy.

Off to do some shopping and going to do my 30 day shred again. I found this woman who did 30 consecutive days on MFP and you should see her before and after shots - talk about inspirational - I CAN DO IT!!!! The only person that will hold me back is ME and I have to believe that I can do it, I am capable of following through and doing this for me and my kids.

SJ....snap and snap it must be an english thing with the tea!! i did my dvd sunday and then today and it was so much harder today! maybe overdid it on sunday!
for me alot of the work was portions, re-training myself to eat a smaller ammount and realising that i didnt need all that extra food as im still full!!

SB...DH did it a few times and i made him eat it! not that he minded. sounds like you have a great routine and plan and are sticking too it!! go you

Tan...sorry dd has been so sick, doesnt make being motivated easy! yay for not going over your cals!! i pretty much decided my food at the begining of the week, shop well and not run out of yummy HEALTHY snacks and start eating crap. works most the time

mildez....looks like a few of us will be doing the same dvd!! its pretty good!..i think anyway.

Sterla....it moves way too fast for me most the time...if i have a day away i get lost...i already appologised for any lack of personals

AFM.... (keeping with ''the week of OTT cliches'' )well i pushed my body to the limit and gave it 110%, i felt the burn and pushed through it translated...i did my dvd and even though it was stacks harder than normal i did it.... YAY
and i just looked back at my weeks goals and i have reached all of them...which im chuffed with...same goals for this week!! but MORE ACTIVE!

I just finally got my wii fit board back and did 30mins on it and as my weight wasn't as much as I expected I weighed myself on the real scales and I was 80.8kilos. I can't believe I lost a little seeing as I was such a pig over the weekend. Looks like I can continue to reach my goal of been under 80 by the end of July. I'm stoked. Wii fit age was 44 lol (I'm 28) and so far I burnt 148kcals. What should I aim for a day? I will definately do another 30mins later today but I dont want to over do it and not be able to walk tomorrow. Did mostly jogging, stepping and the hoola hoop.

beckoes I got the idea of the DVD from this thread. Hope it helps. I can't see myself doing it daily but if I can do something every day (from walking, the wii, going for a jog and the DVD) hopefully that will help. Well done on giving it 110%. How do I make my bum burn? My calves were really feeling it but that was about it. Well done on reaching all your goals

Tanstar I'll have a look at the My Fitness Pal. Thanks for the tip. Goodluck with the self control tomorrow.

My treat for loosing weight when I should have gained is a trip to the supermarket to buy some ingredience to make a healthy dinner tonight. Will pick it out of the michelle bridges cookbook. I can't wait. Biggest problem I am going to have is keeping to a smaller portion. I'm a shocker for going back for 2nds and 3rds. Also I'll be cooking a seperate meal for the others so there will be left overs. I guess I should choose something that can be reheated and frozen so I can have a few serves for later dates.

well done for the loss!! i thought about cooking two dinners, but decided that DH and DD could just get used to eating the same as me...its tasty food, just LOTS of veg and mostly salads, normaly noodle salads, rice salads, with chicken/beef etc or salad with a pitta bread. i did make some yummy turkey burgers and i just skipped the bread roll. stirfrys too. but everything has LOTS of veg/salad in it...dh is eating it and i think secretly enjoying it...DD wants spag bol tonight...she is getting a chicken noodle salad! suck it up

TAN... are you doing the dvd every day aswell??? im aiming for every other day this week.

hey all! hi and welcome sterla! lol this thread does move pretty fast when you don't have time to check it a couple of times a day... am trying to night-wean my bub (18-19months) so we can *all* have more sleep lol. last night was the first night.. so didn't do any intervals last night or this morning as was sleeping, which is almost as good lol (hopefully!). planning on going for a big walk later when bub wakes up from his nap as we need to get some more milk as used most of it in a cinnamon tea cake for him.

i can't remember who said what but i have either porridge (just rolled oats and water) or 3 weetbix (with boiling water over them - sorry if you all go "eeeeew!" lol) and about 1/2 a cup or so of vitasoy calci plus organic soy milk. and that keeps me going til lunch. i used to have a slice of toast with peanut butter (or avocado) on it as well but over the last week and a bit have been full after just the cereal so i no longer need it, which is great!

re the after dinner snack, when i started this journey i also needed something then to fill a little niggling hole and so would have a piece of fruit (sorry leesa lol!) but now i don't need it any more either so is just a cup of tea after dinner (no dessert either).

lol with the squats... ya, i felt that burn too! but all for a good cause and has not slowed me down at all. i chose grande plies in 2nd as am an ex ballet dancer (so i know the correct technique) and i really feel the need to get into my inner thighs where squats only feel like they're working the quads...

one question.. leesa you were saying to belfie i think a while ago that the belly is the last to go for smaller statured people, is that sort of a way of saying that the person's "problem" area is the last to go? so for me would that be my bum, hips, upper thighs do you think? these are the areas i've always had a fair amount of curves on lol. like at the mo even though am still in big jeans i feel SO much more like my old self from the waist up. my arms look like the bat wing is almost entirely gone and i've had to do up all my bras a clip tighter (am a 12C in BF bras lol, the fitter was shocked when she did me - said she'd never meet anyone who wore less than a D cup..) so feel like i'm getting back to my pre preg size of 10C, yay!

anyway. better stop procrastinating and do some work! seminar in 2 weeks! eeek! thank goodness fundraiser is at the end of the week, almost there! all i have to do now is pick up the key, set up and make sure the tech stuff works lol!

oh and yum beckoes! could you post the recipe?

I replied yesterday but it disappeared before my eyes so trying agin now. This thread moves really fast which is great.

I started calorie king yesterday and didn't reach my target (it has given me 1870 calories) and used 1270 which I think is good for weight loss but it wasn't planned. I actually had a couple of naughty scotch finger biscuits yesterday but it's funny how I'm getting in the mind set now of checking the packets for calories and I weighed a couple of things too.

I weighed in yesterday too and sad to report that I was 100g heavier. I might put batteries in our bathroom scales and see what it tells me. Sometimes I'm not sure about the Wii balance board.

Sorry it's all about me but I will pop back in later. I love reading your posts as it helps me stay motivated.

Is anyone elses tummy grumbling a lot? I was so hungry yesterday even though I ate the stuff I usually do and my tummy is growling now so better get some lunch. I read someone had an omlette and now I want one. I saw on Oprah ages ago that she sets herself a time that she doesn't eat after at night and when her tummy is grumbling it makes her think that her body will go and eat the fat if she isn't feeding it.

    wow so much going on.

SJ - I'm so tempted to get the shred DVD - do tell!! Is there much abs crunching in it tho? I'm still trying to avoid that. (TMI warning!!!) I'm also avoiding doing really heavy weight work as I have multiple vaginal prolapses & hemorrhoids (grrr just can't seem to get rid of them!!!) atm, so I'm just having to be a bit careful.

Debating what to do right now... am thinking either 30 mins zumba.. or some dance dance revolution while the kids sleep. Then some soup for lunch. I've stuck post-it notes on my mirror & my foods (the tempting ones) with my goal weight for this week. It's really helping! Still gunning for that 10kg. Oh and s'one congratulated me on 6cm lost from my waist, but , I have to boast - that was just the last 5 weeks. I've lost 15cm all up from my waist. And I have 6cm to go.

Everyone is going great guns, I love it!! GO YOU GOOD THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. One of my friends called me skinny this morning. It felt so good!!!!

belfie thats great that your efforts have been rewarded today with a compliment. I can't wait for someone to notice my loss lol. All up in 8weeks I've lost 6kilos but no body has noticed yet. I wonder if DH will ever notice grrrr. Maybe if I ever get down to wearing a pair of tight pants I can put them on when another male is around and he will finally notice lol I'm so not like that so dont get me wrong but maybe if he thinks someone else might look at my arse he finally will himself PMSL. Ok right now its absolutely disgusting. But not for long hehe. I am actually really excited about finally taking control.

Tinsel my tummy isn't grumbling but I constantly think of food and I feel hungry although when I actually stop of think I actually am not hungry after all. I've been taking leesa's advice and having a drink (must admit sometimes its a cup of tea instead of a glass of water) and reassessing how hungry I actually am in 20-30mins time. It really helps string out my meals and snacks so they aren't so frequent. I need good food choices available as if I dont thats when I bum out so I have to be organised. Right now I have weight watches jelly in the fridge I can just take a spoon or two if I need a snack in a hurry and I have vegie soup in a pot in the fridge also. I find these 2 snacks the best to just grab when I NEED to eat Now. I've tried snacking on cerlery and carrot sticks but there just not for me.

I'm still trying to decide what to cook tonight. I'm thinking a stir fry but I dont like the recipee's I have so I'm thinking of making my own up with red onion, capsicum, zucchini, beans and either beef or chicken. Tomorrow I might try my luck with spag bowl minus the pasta and have it on a plate of beans. I'm salivating already.

Leesa you wont be very proud of me lol. I just tried the push ups I watched on you tube. OMG I managed 3 and each one I had a job to lift myself back (thats with my knees on the floor) I felt like I was going to fall flat on my face. One arms killed and my other shoulder killed. Will keep perservearing but honestly am I the only one thats never mananged more then 10 or so?

Oh my goodness. I went into calorie king to update and thought I'd check my personal settings and turns out I still had it on that I was breastfeeding which is why it was giving me a high calorie intake. Now I'm down to 1330 calories. So actually I was very close to reaching target yesterday and not far off it today (I've already put my dinner in). I really need to do more excercise though so best do that now before I have to pick the girls up from childcare.

Mildez I am drinking so much more now. I would hardly drink water through the day but now I'm making myself drink at least 4 glasses plus I have tea through the day and coffee to kickstart in the morning. My tummy isn't as hungry today thank goodness.

Off to do pushups. Belfie, did you have your hawt jeans on? You have done well! Ooh and just on Zumba, do you have a DVD you do? How do you find it?

oh and yum beckoes! could you post the recipe?
    sure......its very simple...

    500g poached/grilled chicken breast (shredded)
    125g rice vermicelli
    carrot (cut into matchsticks)
    red capsicum (thinly sliced)
    green capsicum (thinly sliced)
    cucumber (seeded and thinly sliced)
    chili...optional
    1 cup shredded mint leaves
    1/4 cup chopped unsalted peanuts

Dressing...put in a jar and shake well.

    1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup grated palm sugar....i dont have this so just used a squirt of honey
1/4 cup fish sauce...i use about a tablespoon.

toss all, apart from nuts together. sprinkle nuts on top.

yummy....dd1 likes hot dinners, not cold salads. but she ate it all

lol sorry beckoes! that does sound delicious but i meant your cereal! i should have been more clear, sorry to waste your time.. however i might have to try this one too sans capsicums as they make my tongue go all weird!

AFM: well i didn't end up doing my big walk after all as bub slept til almost 4pm by which time it was too late to make a long walk and too cold to go to the playground or something. oh well. i walked over mt vic yesterday (altitude 200m) to go to uni (also up hill). and did intervals tonight (due to lack of exercise today) with 1 min grande plie in 2nd and 1 min of starjumps, repeated 6 times (so 12 mins) and then two mins of marching on the spot to cool down... phew. hopefully 6mins of aerobic and 6mins of anaerobic counts for something... will walk into town tomorrow again though (poss over mt vic) to collect skirt from tailors for fundraiser... worry worry!

Hey Livvy - depends on genetics really, as to where and how the weight will come off the body....I always seem to lose it from arms, face, calves and bust first, then thighs and butt, and last but not least belly! I wish there was a way it could be programmed otherwise though lol!

Hmmm - who was asking about cereals? Sorry I can't remember. I'm a porridge girl, and I have it just with water and a dash of milk. Weetbix would be the only other cereal I'd touch whilst on a weight loss journey though. Don't get me wrong, I havent read each and every packet of cereal and I'm not saying they are all bad - but some of the claims about dried fruit, low fat aren't always true. But remember, I'm a robot almost when it comes to food, though I'm loosening up a bit now.

Mildez - I don't care if you only managed 1 push up hun. The fact is you got in there, you gave it a shot and it's only going to get easier with repetition. I'd be annoyed if you decided to not bother even trying, so I'm really happy with you hun!!

Belfie - You should be so so proud and happy with yourself hun! You skinny minny you! 15cm's!! O.M.G!

Tinsel- I didnt wear my HAWT (lol was auto capitalized by my phone!!!) jeans to do pushups... cos I had ta wash 'em dangnabbit!!! Lol I'm only a bit desperate with one decent pair of pants! Re Zumba, my sis-in-law re-gifted it to me so I don't know where it's from but it has all the proper logos & stuff. It's got a few DVDs in the pack and I like the straightforward cardio the most. There's a sculpt & tone one which I didn't enjoy as much. I'd recommend them tho, lots of fun.

Eep bad with names & can't read back - that chicken recipe looks yum!! I am so making that, thanks!

Leesa - Aaw thanks. Does my head in to think it'll be over 20cm when I'm done. That's huge. Oh and a new best for me - 2 runs this week instead of 1. Plus I've found my HRM chest strap... But still looking for the watch!! Time is ticking, I'd better hurry up!!

Hope you all sleep well & have a great active healthy fun day tomorrow
