    Divvy's Weight Loss Journey

    Well here we go.

On Thursday 27 January 2005 I started Sure Slim. I have a lot of allergies and intolerances, so my program is very limited. And part of it is that I have to eat linseed/flaxseed meal, sesame seeds and other seeds that I can't remember right now.

Anyway, my first weigh in is on Thursday. I feel pretty good so far, however am craving chocolate (funny that eh!).

I thought I'd update everyone weekly on what I've been doing, just to get some support (positive please) and assistance.

    Start weight: 106.1 kgs
    Goal weight: 60.0 kgs.
This week: (haven't weighed in yet)
    Total lost: (dunno)
Good or bad week: so far so good... but where's that chocolate...

How are you coping with the chocolate cravings Divvy? It's pretty hard work isn't it. I'm having a small treat every day otherwise I know I will run out and buy a family block of chocolate and devour it in 2 seconds flat LOL.

Congratulations Divvy on taking your first big step to weight loss.

I have every faith that you can do it and am behind you all the way.

I did Weight Watchers when my DD was about 2 (umm, not sure really how old sh was, but it was ages ago) and to start with it was a challenge because it was new, but the further you go and the more weight you lose, the easier it is. You will have so much energy and you really wont miss the chocolate.

BTW, if I was going to have chocolate because I just couldn't resist I would convince myself (through self talk) before I ate it that I wouldn't enjoy the taste. Sure enough after only 1/2 or 1 square I'd find I wouldn't enjoy it in my mouth and I wouldn't eat any more. Then the next time I felt the craving I'd do the same and if I still felt I needed chocolate I'd find I'd not enjoy the taste. Before too long I wouldn't even want it!

Anyway, keep us posting on your fabulous weight loss journey. We're all right behind you!
    xx

Thank you so much guys for your support. I had the worst chocky cravings yesterday, and had a little bit (but much better than I would have otherwise).

I'm having so much trouble eating these sunflower seeds and flaxseed/linseed meal. They taste like nuts (which I'm allergic to) and they just make me want to throw up.

    BUT I WILL PERSEVERE!

Weigh in day is Thursday, so I'll keep you updated.

    Divvy girl,
Well Done you, wonderful to hear your positive attitude too!

My heart goes out to you as you say farewell to your chocolate-scoffing days...but you'll do just fine without it. Have you thought of using a nice choccy smelling body lotion like cocoa butter or something as a treat instead? Or would that just be too much like torture? However, there must be some tricks to handling cravings? (Just don't take up smoking, hey?!)

Hope your next weigh in goes well & you get used to the birdy food.

All the best to you sweetness.

Thank you Chi-Chi, it's lovely to hear from you. I hope everything is going well with you. Give your wonderful daughter a big hug from me.

The birdy food is just icky, makes me feel ill. I'm sticking with the diet, just don't want the seeds!

I think it's the cholesterol which will kill me (I'm currently 7.2, should be between 3.5 and 5.5) so I have to be careful about rich food. It's really hard, but with support from friends and DH I WILL DO IT!!

    I can't smoke, asthmatic.

I think if I used the cocoa butter I'd end up licking it off..... (oops where's the AO forum!)
