I am wondering if it would be worth it for me to buy an exercise bike/treadmill or something similar. I know they cost a fair bit for something that is decent, so I am also wondering, so you really use yours?
When I had a gym membership, I used to go on the exercise equipment before doing my weights, so I do know how they work/ what they're like/do. I don't mind going on them and really if I got one and did it at home, it would be no more than an hour out of my day.
I could do it when the baby sleeps and the big kids were occupied by whatever I give them (I usually give them the messier stuff-playdough/paints/textas... when bub is sleeping) or when the kids are in bed for the night, especially when DH is on night shifts.
We just got a secondhand cross trainer and it is much harder getting motivation when it's in your house cos you look around and see things that need to be done, or the nice comfy couch...
I make myself get up at 5am to exercise. I can't get the time during the day. if I do get a break from the kids I just want to relax - or nap on the floor haha!!
No. I used to have a bike that I used in front of the TV but then it broke. I've never used any other exercise equipment at home.
When I go to the gym I do it because I'm there but at home there's always something else to do.
Not as often as I should, but at least twice a week. We have a treadmill and a stationary bike. I used to have the treadmill in front of the TV, but now I prefer to have just music on. I've picked certain songs in a certain order so that I can walk to the beat and use them to keep me pumped
I had a cross trainer that didn't get used much. I now have a treadmill that I use most days of the week. I got it for Christmas in 2007 and am starting to look to replace it (trade in for a newer model)...but I also just joined a new gym that I can walk to so am not quiet sure about splurging for more home equipment... my DH tells me I don't NEED to join a gym because I have a pretty decent home set up...
We go through spurts, but admittedly the using it spurts are less than the not using it spurts......We have an exercise bike that we used a lot when we first got it (probably 7 years ago now???). We then moved a few times and it always ended up in a spare room/garage and wasn't used. A couple of months ago DH decided to dig it out of the garage and sit it in front of the TV in our back room. I'm staring at it now....... For a month or so I was using it 2-3 times a week. Haven't used it in the past couple though....
We got a cheap exercise bike ($200 or so) off eBay. We used it a bit when we first got it, then we didn't use it for a while... But in the past couple of months I've been very committed to losing weight and have been getting on our exercise bike almost every night after the kids go to bed. At first it was only 10 minutes, now I tend to do 30-40 minutes.
I think it's like anything - if you're motivated enough, you'll use it .
