[QUOTE=Mother Goose;2458719]nooooo! ICE ICE BABY! You're hurting because you've heated those babies up! Ice, rest, heat, stretch, ice, rest. I promise! (sorry Lees!)

Sorry, we'll have to agree to disagree on that one MG . If I stopped and iced after feeling like that from a workout I think I would have frost bite lol. But certainly, if one is injured I certainly recommend the REST principle. I've always complimented it by continuing movement, gentle walking, stretching for the following 24-48 hrs. This is a classic example of increasing the weights in Body Pump for a class then getting the 'ouch I can't walk feeling' the following day...but thats just a general principle of group fitness taught from within Les Mills.

Sometimes stretching can be quite tough Eluned, and it helps prepare the body for the next work out (always thinking one step ahead eh?). Not to mention assist in its restoration towards recovery.

As for Polars - I have the FT40 and DH has one (a basic model which still gives off info like cal's burn't, heart rates etc. Keep in mind they have an accuracy rate of +/- 20% (according to the booklet mine comes with). But it certainly is a good guide to see if you're hitting your goals. I found it a great way to motivate myself into working harder by trying to burn more calories than the previous session - and that worked for me. Now being UTD I can use it to set off an alarm should my heart rate peak too high, for my own comfort (about 92% at peak intervals) - so it keeps me 'in a safe zone'. I love it and I honestly attrribute my weight loss success to the Polar, but thats just me .

I can't believe the only repairer for Polar is in MY State!!!! SA usually have nothing lol - but we've got a Polar repairer lol, go figure!
