    Question The Gabriel Method

    Hi Everyone

DH is really looking at loosing weight at the moment and he found this method on the web. I haven't heard anything about it and was wondering if anyone else has tried it? It seems to work on the process of working with your body to change the way it works rather than dieting and exercise.

If anyone has tried it or got the book was it any good?

    Thanks for your help

I bought it. It is not expensive so it's worth getting, I reckon.
There is a "hypnosis" cd to listen to every night, it's about changing the way you think, and some parts of it seem a bit weird but it isn't too bad. The book is easy to read, it's all pretty basic nutrition stuff but it makes sense and it has some great ideas and tips on how to change your lifestyle.
I bought it not realising it had a CD in it I don't have a cd player!! I just got an MP3 player for christmas, and have been meaning to put the cd on the computer so i can put it on the MP3 player... thanks for the reminder

I'm skeptical given the amount of sites that has his spam all over it. Second to that a lot of it (from what I read on his site) seems to revolve around positive thinking... whilst thats great and it does work for some people... I'm not convinced it will work for everyone!

The only way to lose weight (healthily and without issues later on!) is to change the way you eat, and eat the right foods your body needs, and in the right portion sizes.

Well his book of course advocates healthy eating and lots of exercise! It's not saying "keep eating junk, just think positive and you'll be thin"

The thing about changing your mindset is changing that self-talk and the thought patterns that lead to unhealthy eating.

Thanks guys for your messages, it is hard to work out whether these books are worth it. If it helps him think positive then it would probably help. This is the first time in 9.5 years that he seriously wants to loose weight and really we are looking at everything...

He has changed his diet and is exercising, but I think he just feels a bit daunted at the moment.

I have read the book. It was not expensive, so I do not feel conned.

The book is a bit "evangelical" to me, with regard to the "love yourself and all good things will follow".

But it is an interesting read. It was another tool to add to my toolbox for my weight loss.

But it was not a secret weapon that makes weight loss "easy".

It was comparible to Think Slim by Mark Stevens, which I love, and personally has given me more "value".
