I'm excited.. I'm doing something about it.

I am so excited as i am REALLY motivated about loosing some weight and getting and then keeping fit.
I'm not doing it for me or for my DP i'm doing it for my girls, i WILL NOT be that mother (my mother, i don't mean to offend anyone else) that uses her weight as an excuse to not go swimming, play netball with them or take them for a walk.

It all started as i have lost 10+kg after the birth of DD2 and i want to loose some more and keep it all off.

3wks after birth i was down to:
Weight: 96.3kg (according to shopping centre scales)
    Height: Roughly 5ft 10
    BMI: 31 = obese

So i have joined the weight loss support group on here, i am making more of an effort to eat smaller more regular meals with DD1 all day (we eat lots of fruit and drink heaps of water anyway), we are planning to walk to the letterbox and back every day (when the weather permits ie not 37 or 15 and raining ) and i am going to go for walk with 1 or 2 of the girls from MG once a week.

But the thing i am excited about and looking forward to is getting help from a friend at mothers group.. she is a naturopath and until now i hadn't even thought of asking for her help, we have LOTS of issues in our family like asthma, eczema, parkinsons, diabetes and loosing weight will help me with some of these.
Today she came over and she's going to get me some information sheets from work, she's also told me to get a referral for bloods when i have my 6wk check-up and then we can look at things more related to me and my body... i am so excited.

We are going to check my Iron, Vit D as i was deficient while PG with DD2 .. what else is there that i should prob check? she said thats fine for now but is there anything else?

Sorry this is so long.. i am so excited for once i am actually making plans and trying to stick with it... might even change my ticker to a weight loss one...

    Hi Chick,

Congratulations on embarking on the beginning of your weight loss journey! I'm excited for you! You sound so positive & enthusiastic & just ready to 'go get 'em'! I love it.

I too have decided 'enough is enough' & I'm really working my backside off to get myself back in shape & feeling good about myself. My weight is a constant inner battle with my own thoughts & TBH I'm tired of it. Most of my friends have brilliant figures & I can't be bothered feeling like the odd one out anymore so this is it! I have about 24 kg's that I need to lose, but I'd be so wonderfully happy with myself if I lost 19kg. So far I have lost 5.9kg with the Weight Watchers Online Program.

I look forward to getting to know you, I come & go on these weight loss threads, but now I'm going to have to stay. The weight is slowly starting to come off, however I honestly feel as though the implanon I have in my arm is the main reason why the kg's don't budge as easily, as I do have age on my side & I feel as though with my exercise regime & my eating the weight should be falling off me, but I have given myself until 1 March 2010 & if I haven't noticed a real improvement I'm going to go get the rod taken out & see if that changes things.

I turn 30 next year & I would dearly love a beautiful photography session with my DH & 2 kiddies but I have never had one done as I don't want fat pics of me on the wall.

Good luck! I'll be cheering you on!

I had professional photos done a couple of years back but refused any that had actual body shots

Well done! You sound really motivated and sensible. I am on a similiar road. I am a similiar height and had about the same weight to lose. I started trying to be more sensible in November and have lost 8kg since then. Nothing fancy just trying not to overdo it and move a bit more. I'd love to drop another 10kg in the next year. You can do this and will - we'll all be there with you! xxx

Thank you so so much, i will def take you up on the offer once i've sorted myself out a little more.

Thank you everyone else, i look forward to sharing my journey with everyone.

At the moment i am doing a food diary as a blog, every day for a week, i think this will make me more accountable for what i eat like, i can't hide it id it's here for everyone to see.
Then i will make small changes... i don't want to go on a DIET as such, i want to make small, gradual every day changes that i can maintain.
I'm not doing this JUST to loose the weight, i want to remain healthy and keep focused, i don't want to stop eating pizza all together, i don't want to get to a size 14 and then just go oh well i made it!

I NEED to make this change something that will stick, DD1 eats what we eat in regards to tea and there are limits with her as she has allergies and also foods DP and i don't eat.. BUT once i have my blood tests and 6wk check-up i will be coming back in here and getting as much help as i can.

With those results i will do a blog listing what we don't eat etc and we can all work from there.... god i'm looking forward to this.. i'm so excited!

    thanks again everyone.
