Well done! You sound really motivated and sensible. I am on a similiar road. I am a similiar height and had about the same weight to lose. I started trying to be more sensible in November and have lost 8kg since then. Nothing fancy just trying not to overdo it and move a bit more. I'd love to drop another 10kg in the next year. You can do this and will - we'll all be there with you! xxx

Thank you so so much, i will def take you up on the offer once i've sorted myself out a little more.

Thank you everyone else, i look forward to sharing my journey with everyone.

At the moment i am doing a food diary as a blog, every day for a week, i think this will make me more accountable for what i eat like, i can't hide it id it's here for everyone to see.
Then i will make small changes... i don't want to go on a DIET as such, i want to make small, gradual every day changes that i can maintain.
I'm not doing this JUST to loose the weight, i want to remain healthy and keep focused, i don't want to stop eating pizza all together, i don't want to get to a size 14 and then just go oh well i made it!

I NEED to make this change something that will stick, DD1 eats what we eat in regards to tea and there are limits with her as she has allergies and also foods DP and i don't eat.. BUT once i have my blood tests and 6wk check-up i will be coming back in here and getting as much help as i can.

With those results i will do a blog listing what we don't eat etc and we can all work from there.... god i'm looking forward to this.. i'm so excited!

    thanks again everyone.

    Starting today

I did my food diary for 5 days and it was enough to get me motivated even more, made me feel i generally eat plenty of fruit and veg but the last week was disgusting... so her i go starting my 'lifestyle change' from today.

My Mantra will be: I WILL BE FIT & HEALTHY FOR MY GIRLS

It's not about the kg i loose (although obviously this is the way i will track on here) but feeling healthier and knowing i am making an effort for my kids!

So this morning i started with some just right, i bought HEAPS of fruit for DD and i yesterday (mangoes, banana, apples, watermelon, grapes) to eat as snacks, am also going to buy some things like NUTS to snack on during the day.

My biggest down fall is BREAD, DD has it for breakfast and lunch most days and it's just EASY to make it for myself aswell.

I eat cruskits, saladas and things aswell, are these an ok alternative?

Ok so wish me luck, i am doing a blog so feel free to check it out and kick me up the butt if you think i'm falling off the wagon... lol

    Hi Zarava

That's really terrific - good on you!

I've got my BMI down from very definitely overweight to very definitely healthy over the last couple of years even though I haven't been able to exercise (dodgy pelvis).

You are exactly right by not trying to completely cut out things like pizza. I haven't cut out anything but my portions are much, much smaller. I used to eat maybe 6 slices of pizza. Now it's often only 2, maybe 3. If I get two pieces of sushi, that's a meal now rather than a snack between meals.

I don't buy rubbish though. So no biscuits or chocolate because they really are empty calories and it's hard to stop yourself. So if I really, really want something sweet I have to go to the milkbar though actually I find fruit pretty good for sugar cravings.

TBH, I'm not sure about the bread. I still eat heaps of bread and it doesn't seem to affect my weight - I think it depends, like pasta, on what you put on it. Having said that, I use butter because there's no way I'm using marg but I always put healthy fillings on ie. lots of salad.

Good on you - it's exciting isn't it when you see the weight dropping from all your own efforts.
