lemon detox diet - anyone tried it??

    Hi,

I have the last few kilos to shed of my 20kg. I've lost about 13-14kgs and have another 6 to go.

I have just purchased the lemon detox diet, the one done by Beyonce and the likes.

Has anyone used this before and is it any good??

    Thanks

Hey darl.. My neighbour was doing this.. after the first day she was starving.. it took so much of my energy to convince her it was bad. I ended up taking her down to the chemist and talking to the pharmacist and once i told them what the diet entailed the pharmacist looked at me in pure shock and said to my neighbour.. 'get off this diet now, we do NOT recommend it to anyone'... reasons being is.. not eating for 7 days is purely un natural not to mention down right dangerous! Also.. it doesnt get rid of your fat so much as it gets rid of muscle content as well as nutrients in your body. The litre of salt water that you drink in the morning also dehydrates you immensly, and considering you can't drink anything other than what the diet says it's also dangerous. And lastly, and this is the most important thing.. the drink.. is FOUL.. it tastes.. and I don't kid... LIKE OYSTER SAUCE with about half a kilo of pepper, my mouth burnt for hours....

Someone at my mums work did this diet, she lost a lot weight in a short period of time (after spending thousands of dollars) and gained it ALL back and then some. Perhaps try replacing one or two meals with slim-shakes instead, and change your exercise routine to get your body into gear again? And congrats on the weight loss!

...everything that they said plus you'll effect your metabolism. Your body will go into "starvation" mode and when you do start eating again your body will store this as fat and you'll probably put all the weight back on.

TD - If you've hit a plateau then perhaps you could change somethings around...do you exercise? If you do then swap machines/weights/classes for a while. Or add some interval training (stopping and starting or varying speeds). With food, perhaps you need to eat more? Eat smaller portions more often, every 3 hours is good to boost your metabolism. Just make sure it's healthy food!

Goodluck, i'm sure you'll shift it. It sounds like you've done really, really well so far

    Thanks All.

I eat 5 meals a day, brekkie, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. I did go on the TF diet initially to lose weight but the shakes and my body did not agree. I am lactose intolerant and the shakes are milk powdered. I did go on the TF soy shakes but having only 2 flavours to choose from bored me. I went on Liteneasy, lost some more weight there and have stopped for about 1 month as i was sick of eating the same food and i am a very fussy eater!
I did exercise up until 1 month ago when mum had her hysterectomy (for cancer) so i've been dealing with her, the kids, hubby, job and the household = no time to exercise.
I will be starting to exercise within 1 week or 2 as things have started to settle down at home with mum and all. So i'm hoping this lull period may have tricked my body and the exercise might start the weightloss process.

It is such a battle. A life long battle. I hate it. i love food too much. But then again, i love fitting into size 8-10 pants as well. I dunno. I'm going to give the lemon detox diet a go and if i don't like it...at least i've given it a go.

    Thanks once again.

I don't believe in diets. You need start something that you can keep doing on your own once you have finished the program. I think hiring a personal trainer would be a better option. I believe they are trained in fitness and nutrition and can help you loose the weight in a sensible manner.

Congratulations with your weight loss so far
