Hi Liz - i too am very much in the same boat. i am at about 130kg at the moment - shamefully - and have just been diagnosed with PCOS. I dont have any children but we are desperately TTC and are about to start on our first IVF/ICSI cycle!
I have adopted a healthy lifestly and eating approach - no diets - they dont work for me - to restricted and i lose hope and interest.
I would love to keep in contact throughout both our experiences to help keep each other on track!!
Determination and the belief in your ability is the very best start.
Exercise is great and I believe (but don't have PCOS, so I do apologise) that a low GI diet or one that is good for diabetics is a good way to eat for PCOS sufferers.
I find CalorieKing dot com dot au helpful to chart my food too.
Thank you for your supportladies. kellijh I weigh about 120kg atm The whole craze dieting dosen't work for me either, I'm trying to do two 30 min exercises everyday (1 before work and 1 after), which I have been sticking to nearly everyday (I'm not a very good morning person) and have been doing well with watching what I am eating and am feeling better for it. Kim I will have a look at the site, thanks hun.
Thanks again ladies, hopefully will be posting some good weightloss news soon.
I am not 100% sure on the details with PCOS but i found that i wasn't eating enough, i was having 3 meals a day and then when i did snack it was crap so now i snack on fruit during the day and have smaller meals for breakfast/lunch/tea.
I am also walking 3 days a week with a fellow BB'er.
Please feel free to join us at the SUMMER HEALTH CHALLENGE thread, some very wonderful and supportive ladies there.
I need to loose over 20kg and have so far lost 6 or 8 (can't remember - my ticker says it) and a lot of it is to do with the help and encouragement from my BB friends.
