it seems the local weightloss centre isn't as helpful as i'd hoped. I have my weight and waist recorded but not my chest & hips. Lucy(or anyone really) tell me where to measure hips and chest? Is there a particular spot/point? Also, is there a good sale on scales somewhere coz mine are dodgy.

OK, for measurements, think of it this way: you will be the one measuring yourself regularly, so as long as you measure yourself in the sme place each time, you will see a variace.

My advice would be to meaure boobs around the widest part so that the tape measure is around the nipple.

For waiste, use your belly button as the indication of where to measure.

Hips are the trickiest: I meaure my widest part: around the bum.

Scales: I got mine from the supermarket. They are digital, measure in 0.2kg increments, and cost about $30.

Scone I got my scales from Bunnings, were $25 and are digital ones, not bad! The brand is PROPERT.

pmsl.. or if your boobs hang down like mine do - the widest part is above the nipple.. lol

OK I'm posting before i chicken out... Need to get a tape measure and scales... I gave mine to MIL... quite busy within th next few days so will have to try to get back here to PM details...

I'm such a lazy so and so also... i KNOW i need to do something but with lack of sleep and a sooky bubs motivation for weightloss is usually the last thing on my mind... Need to get cracking... even if its walking round the back yard.

Before the kids i had lost 27KG's by walking to and from work so i know it can be done its just when your fat its hard to get that motivation up to keep going... I think its great that there will be others here to keep us all going... I have a wedding in end of Jan... I know i wont have reached the goal weight but some loss will be better then none...

    Good luck everyone...

Lucy - I have just realised I have packed my Wii and Wiifit and my scales aren't digital orf useful for accuracy. So I will have crappy scales and less accurate (no small increment) measurements until end of Jan - is that ok?

I just PM'd off my measurements- while it was scary I decided that it was ok, because every number I see from now on is going to be smaller!

Just PM'd Lucy my stats - weight is 85.5 and I would like to get to 75kg. Less would be nice but I will reassess when I get there (LOL - was about to type "if" I get there!)

My goals are to weight 75kg by the end of March - at 5kg a month I think that do-able.

I am doing weigt watchers and am a member at my local Contours gym, so I think I have all the "support" I need - plus all of you guys!!!

Thanks for all the stats that are coming in. My spreadsheet is getting fuller by the hour!

Any scales will do: digital or old fashioned. I'd probably suggest weighing in at the same time each week (ie Weds AM, when you get up, after you have done a poo!).

Rory, you sound like a woman with a plan on a mission.......go for it!

Roryrory, I too am on Weight Watchers, joined online and so motivated this time!!!! The site is EXCELLENT and they had a special going so I joined. I am hoping to lose 15 kilos.

I am on my 4th day of WW and walked between 1 to 1.5hours per day! I am drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day and not even tempted with all of the rum balls in the fridge! I have put up an old photo of myself (skinny one!) on the fridge so everytime I go to the fridge...I see it and it helps motivate me! That might help some other people, just an idea anyway. I haven't been the weight on the fridge for 12 years!
