For whoever asked about if we're all doing WW, I'm doing TF for the next month and then signing up for WW unlimited. There are a few evening meetings near me so I am going to try them out and see which one suits me best.
Did reasonable well today. Stayed 'on the wagon' except for when I licked DS' mashed potatos of my hand, forgetting I cant have potato on this diet! It's unlikley tp make that much of a difference though.

I am not doing any particular eating plan - I call mine the 'cut the crap' approach. Just eat as much good stuff as you can and cut the crap stuff as much as possible!!
I did 10 hours of gardening and cleaning without a break - not sure what has come over me since New Year - everything is spotless in my house.......at least I am burning calories.....
Tomorrow I want to do more gardening and finish off the little cleaning that is left in the lounge.....

I dont have much more weight to lose, about another 8-10kg would be great but I am more into losing cm's now. I have lost 24kg since giving birth back in July 07.

Although I'm a WW advocate... and think it's a brilliant programme... like Tracey, I'm not going to be following any programme.
With a 6 week old baby - I'll just be happy if I can get 3 meals a day. I am going to try to eat healthy meals and snacks - increase my fruit & veg intake - drink more water & less diet coke.... and do some exercise... particularly on my core (stomach). I look like I'm 9 months pregnant still :( And although I've recently had a baby - I know that I will continue to look like this if I don't do something about it.
We took some photos tonight and the camera doesn't lie. I said "gosh, I look big"... and DH said "you are big". He wasn't being mean. Just being honest.
I have to dig out my pilates videos... which are still packed in boxes somewhere from when we moved!
of course you can join in Veronica! Official start date is tomorrow - but people can join anytime! Welcome aboard!

Oh thanks Jodie :redface: I am at a good size now but I know that I can do better. I will try and find a before picture to put up on this gallery, but I kinda stayed away from cameras when I was at my heaviest..
This is going to be great. I am getting back in to my diet and exercise routine tomorrow so its great timing!

Hey just a quick note. I feel really motivated about being healthy this year thanks to all the chat on this forum. Also, its funny what a motivator it is to be planning to fall PG later in the year. I really need to be as healthy as possible and doing all the right things (folate, vitamins, eating right and (gulp!) even exercising) to reduce my risk of a baby with a cleft condition.
I will be taking a cut the crap approach like Tracey. I have tried WW and Sure Slim in the past and I go great guns when I have to turn up and be weighed and checked each week (I'm very responsive to an external locus of control LOL!) but I don't maintain motivation on my own and then over the next 6-12 months gradually put most/all of it back on. I think I too easily sucumb to the social pressure to eat junk when others are doing it too.
Veronica - well done on the 24kg mate! Fantastic effort - you must feel so proud!

When we moved to Darwin (after a miscarriage and after 3 years of unexplained infertility) we thought the enxt step would be IVF, & I KNEW they would suggest I lost weight, so I pre-empted that and lost weight through cutting out crap and walking.......lost around 12kg, then got pregnant naturally! (Hence I have an adorable Olivia pie who is nearly 4!):

Don't stress about the gym Shannon......if all else fails, wait till they are all in bed and go for a walk.
(I have made a committment to myself that my body transformation is not going to cost me anything UNTIL I can justify a reward of spending $$ on myself.......!)
For exmaple, I just went for a walk and immediately thought "Maybe I can go and get some cute new walking clothes" but really.does my dog Perry care if I am in an all coordinating set of clothes? Will it make any difference to my weight loss? Nope. Just pull on your daggy old shorts and T shirt Lucy and go and walk the hills of Athelstone!
This is such a fun thread - i am loving seeing the same names and getting a feel for who is who.
Ngala - noce to have you here. I was thinking this should be a permanent ongoing thread as there will always be ladies with babies on this site that need some motivation to shape up.
The cut the crap diet is part of my whole philosophy. I actually called my company 'Cut The Crap' - you should have seen the look on my accountants face when I told him to register it......it fits with everything.........diet, skin care, supplements, exercise, mind set, friends...whatever. I am an IT consultant and agencies laugh when I tell them I am from cut the crap consulting......there is so much hype and BS out there - I cut through it an have spent years working out what is real - all from my point of view of course!!
And that is the main crux of the issue - it is from your point of view......what is crap to you may not be to me and vice versa.....so do what is right by you.
When is comes to diets, I have a long history of bulimia which raises its head when I diet......hence my cut the crap approach - nothing is forbidden. That said, if I had to choose a diet, it would be WW as I feel it is the only one that really doesn't have rely on their products (although they do have them) and also teaches to eat for the rest of your life.
If you dont change your habits forever, you will diet, then go back to whatever you did before with the same result as you had before - a bigger you.
So those that are opting for meal replacements, make sure you have a plan for the future or you will be shaking forever!!!
I don't recommend replacemnt shakes generally but as far as I am concerned, if it works for you, then do it. Nutrition in a glass when you don't have time to eat......a bloody brilliant idea!!
I walked a 1km yesterday afternoon!! Not very fast with the stroller and Erin but still i was a walk. We went and fed these giant koi fish near us then walked to grandad's house for a swing so it was a happy time all round.

I would normally steer well clear of any meal replacement diets. BUT, for me, this is the "kickstart" I need. Funnily enough, I always think in WW points still!
The trick, for me, is to shed a load initially (for my motivation) then adopt WW principles ongoing.
The other thing I realised the other day is that ALL DIETS DO WORK, BUT ONLY IF YOU STICK TO THEM!
I am a master at "cheating" or conning myself.......and of course the only person I am "robbing" is myself.......

I officially started on the wagon this morning with scrambled eggs for breakfast and a walk/run with the dogs. I did my weigh in and measurements, who do I send them in to? Do I just PM Lea? I was quite surprised that I hadnt gained anything over the last month of not doing anything..

Okay I am done - will make sure I do lots of physical activity while I am away if its not too humid... :) I just dont want to be strict on this holiday we have been waiting for for so long! I want to enjoy but will do my best, then as soon as I get back, I will set my activity plan :) I will also be doing Tony Ferguson as I have heaps left and I tend to eat on the run. I will do low carb at night regardless. Last time I lost heaps of weight all I did was exercise everyday (10-20 on a cross trainer) and no takeaway. lost stacks.

ok I've just snuck into the toilets at work and taken a photo :) I've uploaded it (I also cut off a bit of my head :lol: )
I'm subscribing to the "if you want it, have a small bit of it" philosophy, so if I'm craving pate, I'll have a cracker or two with pate on it - not a couple of pieces of toast smothered in the stuff (which is what I usually have).
I have also started my supplements again today, Double X.
I have a plan of 5kg a month.
DH said to me yesterday "when you lose your weight you're not going to be able to tuck your sarong under your fat anymore", when I put my sarong on, I tuck the sides together under my blubber belly (which keeps the thing from flapping open). He is EXTREMELY supportive of this (even though he knows he's getting a couple of needles in his balls at the end of it).
OK I've been online long enough during lunch, so I'm going to get off-line and go and eat my lunch, then I'm going to "look busy" all afternoon until DH & DSS arrive to pick me up. Then I get to go home and play with my boys.
